I'm looking to go modular with my Dungeons and Dragons games using a combination of either Terrainlinx or Terraclips in conjunction with the licensed D&D cardboard tiles. I have no experience with either of the modular sets though. Any thoughts on which is better, easier, etc.?

Terraclips, without a doubt.

Terraclips is based off of Terrainlinx, but Terrainlinx is a .pdf product that requires a huge investment in time to assemble (and wouldn't work as well in conjunction with the licensed D&D cardboard tiles). fwiw: the plastic clips used for Terraclips can actually even work on D&D dungeon tiles (to a moderate degree).

I recommend starting with the Streets of Malifaux set (trying them out in conjunction with your D&D tiles), then get a Buildings of Malifaux set if you like them.
