Looks awesome!!  I can't wait until Tuesday!  Also can't wait until we start seeing new tools.  I'm very excited to hear what is next!

Concerning "Default" Rules Show

The argument goes, that some idiot at the table might claim that because there is a "default" that is the only true way to play D&D.  An idiotic misconception that should be quite easy to disprove just by reading the rules, coming to these forums, or sending a quick note off to Customer Support and sharing the inevitable response with the group.  BTW, I'm not just talking about Next when I say this.  Of course, D&D has always been this way since at least the late 70's when I began playing.

It looks great and I'm impressed with the fact that it appears to be a fully functional Monster Builder. Well done WoTC.

Nice, I really like the looks of it!  Everything except the first screenshot.  You guys should really remove that "S" in "Adventure Tools" for the foreseeable future.

But then it would be incorrect!

Until you actually have another adventure tool, it's incorrect. I know WoTC intends/wants too, but you just have to grant us the right to be skeptical. 4 Years and WoTC saying "We want to,  but we can't say it will even happen" tends to put a damper on things.

Just to give you guys an idea, this took about five months and that included building the AT infrastructure from scratch (this is completely client code, vs the CB that has a distributed architecture) and implementing the MB. Next tools should be quicker

Uh, so what were you doing all those other months after you stopped supporting the old monster builder?

Of course, having said 5 months to do, and then saying new tools will take less time, people are going to take that as a promise that in 4 months or less, WoTC is going to put out another tool.

So, if you don't, and there's a crap storm, you brought it on yourself.

Umm, I don't think most people take "should" as a promise to anything.  When most people say "yeah, this should work", I don't think they are meaning "I 100% guarantee that this will work," but rather "we intend for it to work this way" and all intentions are subject to change.  Just look at how many movie trailers come out, "promising" a release date, only to have the movie be 2 months, 6 months, even a year late (and sometimes with a new title).

Fair enough. I can only ask for a little patience now, and I can understand why you are feeling that way.

Building up the rest of the infrastructure

I know, I tend to do that, don't I?

This may be asking for too much information, but does that mean the now completed infrastructure can hold things like traps and hazards, magic items, etc. and that at this point front ends are all that needs to be added to have functional builders for other elements in the game?

A big thanks to Steve and Paolo for the information!   Looking forward to seeing this thing in the flesh - and especially looking forward to the next few months and what may or may not be in the pipeline!
