Gloves of the Distracted Craftsman: These worn leather gloves allow the wearer to work on items while busy doing other things. To use this item you speak a command word, then spend the first 15 minutes creating an item, with all the raw materials and tools already assembled, in an environment you can complete the item in, such as a workshop or an alchemy lab. After 15 minutes of work, the gloves transfer all the raw materials to an extradimensional workshop that is formed, which contains a craftsman similar to an unseen servant with your craft skills, the extradimensional workshop has all the tools needed to finish the item. You make the craft checks as normal until the item is finished, but you can do other things during this time. If the gloves are removed or their effects are disrupted before the items are finished crafting, the unfinished goods and unused raw materials are returned harmlessly in a pile before you as the extradimensional pocket collapses. You must wear the gloves for at least 24 hours uninterrupted before they can be used, and they can not be taken off while the crafting is being worked on. Once the item is complete, you sense it, and can return it and the unused raw materials and scraps into a space before you at any time within a day, if you don't return it, when the day is up, the item and unused materials will appear before you in a pile, as if you'd taken off the gloves or their effects were dispelled. Only one item may be worked on at a time with the gloves, nothing but the raw materials to craft the item may be stored in the dimensional pocket, nor can any living things be stored there, although if they do somehow get in, it is about as large as a workshop and has enough air for 1 medium sized creature to survive for about 4 hours.
Faint conjuration; CL 3rd; Craft Wondrous Item, unseen servant, rope trick; Price 10,000 gp.
Summon Craftsman's Tools
Level: Sorcerer/wizard 1
Components: V, S
Casting Time: 1 round
Range: Close (25 ft. +5 ft./2 levels)
Duration: 1 day
You summon a single set of craftsman's tools made of softly glowing magical force. You must have at least 1 rank in the related craft skill that the tools are to be used for. These tools are about as tough and effective as a normal set of craftsman's tools. This spell can't make special equipment used for crafting past 10 pounds, nor can it create effective weapons, attempts to use the tools as a weapon causes them to dissappear after a single attack. This spell can only summon tools used for crafting, not other sorts of tools like climbing gear or a washboard for cleaning clothes. It can't summon chemical or alchemical substances used for crafting, such as special acids or dyes. The tools summoned with this spell can be used if they are all that is needed to craft the item or you have the remaining tools and equipment needed as the focus component or part of it for the Magecraft spell (see ECS p. 113).
Enhance Crafting Equipment
Level: Sor/Wiz 1
Components: V, S, F
Casting Time: 1 round
Target: Tools and equipment touched
Duration: 1 day
Enhance Crafting Equipment gives the touched tools and equipment used for crafting masterwork quality. If they are already of masterwork quality, including from already being under the duration of this spell, it enchants them to grant you an additional +2 enhancement bonus to your craft check for that day. If you cast this spell every day for a week, you can make a craft check representing the week's work and still gain the enhancement and/or masterwork bonuses. This spell is often used and can be used along with Magecraft and Summon Craftsman's Tools. Even if multiple tools and equipment are used, the bonus only applies once, all tools and equipment must be of the same quality to recieve the bonuses.
Focus: The tools and other equipment you are enhancing that are all that are needed for the crafting skill you are applying the bonuses to.
Level: Sor/Wiz 3
Components: V, S, F
Casting Time: 1 minute
Range: Personal / Room (special)
Target: You and One Room you are in, up to 50 sq. ft. + 10 sq. ft./2 levels)
Duration: 1 day
Given the raw materials needed you can magically craft items almost as if with your bare hands. You essentially change your body and hands and summon into existence the needed tools to craft the items you desire. In order to cast this spell you must have at least 5 ranks in the related craft skill and have used this skill with related tools and equipment before to have successfully crafted an item. This spell only functions while you are in the room it is initially cast in. If you leave the room for more than 1 hour, the spell ends prematurely, and while you are outside of the room, the spell is currently non-functioning. While inside the room you are treated as if you had special tools equipment granting a +6 circumstance bonus on your craft check. If you cast this spell every day for a week, you can make a craft check representing the week's work and still gain the +6 circumstance bonus. The magical tricks and techniques used to craft during this spell are so efficient that you are automatically treated as if you were crafting an item 'more quickly' according to the craft rules, without the increased DC, or perhaps mroe accurately, as if you already met that DC for free, in terms of progress made crafting the item. While you are in the room and this spell is operating, within the confines of the room you can control what is essentially 2 mage hand spells, 2 unseen servants, and possess the effects of prestidigitation, and you can effectively cast mending once every 5 minutes. There seems to be up to 3 tenser's floating disks within the room that you control, that remain active even while you are not in the room, although you can't control them outside of it and they won't leave the room, which can be used to prevent stuff from touching the ground or as working surfaces and such. Additionally, your hands control potent forces while under the effects of this spell. While within the room under the effects, each of your hands may be empowered with a type of damage dealt via a touch attack, chosen from the following list, 1d3 bludgeoning, 1d3 slashing, 1d3 piercing, 1d3 fire, 1d3 acid, or 1d3 cold as you envelop your hands with special forces normally used for crafting tricks, but that can be used to protect yourself or fight within the room. You can change the damage type on one of your hands as a swift action, or a move action if you have already used up your swift action for that round. You may use this spell as the focus component for casting Magecraft. Casting this spell in a room that already possesses the needed tools and equipment at at least masterwork quality improves the circumstance bonus to +10, although you ignore any bonuses the tools and equipment already possessed.
Focus: Room the spell is cast in.
