The feats in the article are much improved.  They're definitely more streamlined and easier to use now.

Well done!

Yes! This is exactly the sort of change I was looking for. The fiddly effects are gone and their replacements are minor but useful - and most importantly, straightforward!

Now if they'd just get them in Compendium/Builder...

The Devout Protector feat has a bit of a vaguery there about when allies gain the benefit from this feat.  Is it persistent?  If I have a shield in on my arm do they all the sudden gain a "moral bonus" to AC?  Was it intended for adjacent allies to gain that bonus?

The feat is not vague at all.  If you are using a shield, your allies get a +1 shield bonus to AC.  Shield on, AC bonus to all allies.  Shield off, no AC bonus to allies.

Another day, another three or four entries to my Ignore List.

So all your allies get the shield bonus to the AC?  That seems odd for the fact that there is no criteria other than having the item.  Normally there is some sort of positional or status thing like adjacent or bloodied.  Whatever.  Sounds spiffy.  I'm just trying to envision how this feat of shielding is accomplished.

Think of it as an extension of your divine powers.  Just as your shield protects you, your faith protects your allies.

Note that it's a shield bonus though, which means it won't stack if your ally already has a shield (ie a fighter perhaps).
