So I'm taking a graduate stats class in the fall. I went to the school bookstore to find out what book I need for the class and how much it is going to cost me.. Used, $145.00; New $200.00. So I went and looked for the book online to see for how much I could find it. I got a brand new, international edition for $7.80.

Probably Chinese. I always try to get the international editions. They are the same as the U.S. editons without the U.S. price. I once bought 6 copies of a book for a psychology class between $0.33 to $0.89 each plus $6.00 (for all together). I used one copy and sold the rest for $40.00 each. The book was about $80.00 at the school bookstore. Maybe I should have bought a few more copies of the stats book I just bought. I could sell them for $100.00 each to the students in my class.

The designer is going to send us an updated set of rules, but he really needs to work on the combat system.
Dustin and I may even video our next session, focusing and detailing the combat so I can better describe and point out things we believe can be done better or a different way.
I really kinda tore the combat system apart in my last report to the desinger, and he asked for details and clarifications about things I was trying to communicate to him via e-mail (and some of you know how bad I am at communicating on this internetz thing...), but I haven't got back to him yet. Because a bit more progress was made towards full understanding of a neigboring planetary body with some very interesting possibilities. While the successful landing by itself is less significant than the data that we will recieve, it is difficult to collect data when the rover's parts are strewn across the Martian desert. Besides, how often do we land observational equipment on other planets?

Why is one day greater than the other?

Probability.

If the universe did indeed start, whether with a bang or a word, then there is only a finite amount of time that has passed since that point.  However, unless the universe somehow reverse's it's momentum and collapses back in on itself then it will continue to expand, and thus exist, for all eternity.

Thus, there is a finite number of days that have passed that were probably great.
However, since the future days are infinite in number, there is an infinite number of future days that will probably be great.

As such, it is quite probable that some tomorrow is going to be great (if not greater) then the days prior to it.

Or, to put it another way... there are more great days ahead of us then behind us.

Of course, there's no reason to suspect, based on this analysis, that any specific future day is going to be greater then any specific previous day, but it can be taken for granted that sum totality of the future days will probably be greater then sum totality of the past days.

You have no reason to expect the universe is special? Speciality denotes a departure from the typical, and as far as I can tell there's no way to know what a "typical" universe is.

Regardless, I just think it's silly that you would allow for "a word" to start the universe, but not anything else. A will, a thought, a fire, a rooster named Loraine: they're all equally valid.

I guess I'm picking a fight for no reason though. This is what happens when I get bored.

A rooster named Loraine? That is just ridiculous. Why would anyone name a rooster Loraine? Stacy or Genevieve, okay, but Loraine? You need to slow down on the bath salts.

So, my old man says they found an old bayonet at his girlfriend's place, in the basement or under the house or something... I told them I'd consider buying it off of her. it sounded, from his description, like it was from somewhere between the American Civil War and WWI.
After several hours of research, I've concluded that what we have is an Austrian Model 1854 Lorenz Socket Bayonet... Used extensively in the Civil war by the Confederates (and to a lesser extent by the Union) because large amounts of weapons were purchased by both sides from European armies trying to downsize, upgrade and/or just desperate for cash.
The few examples of auctions I found online (mostly auction houses rather than ebay) place it at somewhere between $60-120. Since it's in fairly poor condition compared to the others I saw, I think I'll offer her $65 for it to start, and maybe go as high as $90 if I have to. Of course, I probably won't have to, since she doesn't really have any other options for selling it.
