Question on this location setting, for anyone that owns it.  What's the quality of the content?  Is this a "good product"?  Is it easily convert to a DS location?  Is it feasible to convert the body of water it juts up against to silt?

Any feedback is appreciated...thanks!

It's a really nice product.  I don't think it converts easily the story's just don't go well with Dark Sun.  It could be converted but would be a lot of work.

There's a lot of interesting ideas, but I'm not sure they would fit for Dark Sun.  The main antagonist is a Tiefling lich who has a gate that can open up into the Nine Hells and let devils into the world.  Not very Dark Sun-ish.

There is some stuff about an Aberrant threat and a Kraken, which you could use to build ideas off of, but the city has a lot of Dragonborn vs Tiefling threats/history.

All in all, it is a really good/inspirational book, but not necessarily for Dark Sun.

If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.

The setting looks really cool.  And I don't mind some work.  Lot's of that can be re-flavored.  Also, if it's a city from the past, it may well have been a site of conflict between tiefling and dragonborn.  Of course, in my setting tielfings are changed, so that would have to we re-worked anyway.

The gate could instead open in the a domain of dread within it the grey.  The kraken could be a silt horror (or just a re-flavored Kraven).  Lots of possiblities.

Appreciate the feedback.  Would love to see some more thoughts.  Still teetering back and forth on purchasing that one.

But Dark Sun had demons and devils in 2e and now has them in 4e. It IS PART OF THE CANON! You are not a true fan of Dark Sun. Go away.

Read the section of the Dark Sun Campaign Setting about the Sea of Silt. There is a creature known as the Dust Kraken. It might work perfectly with your conversion.

The Stuff about the Dragonborn and Tieflings could be dark sunified easily if it was a battle involving the original Creator of the Dray. But thats just from my view point.

Edit: Correction it is the Dust Kraken not the Sand Kraken
