"I have had bad experiences with Gods in the past, Agnoth.  In fact, you could say that everything you see here..."  She shimmied side-to-side in a way that, had there been flesh on her bones, would have seemed alluring... but on a skeleton just seemed pointless... "Is the result of the loving cares of the Gods.  I am here because it was the nearest bit of land from There."  A hand stabbed out towards the dimly glowing haze that was the Forge.

"Are there any sentient beings about?  Forgive me for being blunt, but after my prior encounters, I want as little to do with your kind as possible."

"Sorry to hear that..." he tried to grasp on to the name of the figure, but couldn't. "I must say, the gods here that I have seen so far don't seem that bad... then again, I haven't met all of them. I pretty much only remember seeing an Al--" At the moment he started to say the name, he felt a strong pulse of divine magic whisking through the web, as though there was a tingling through his bones. "...Bahh... I must've forgotten his name..."

Turning back to face the skeletal figure, he looked up at the swirling clouds that housed the archons. "I do have some sentients that live up in the clouds. There is a portal at the top of the tower that takes you up there. They would be happy to have some sort of company from the surface world."

Altair, what are you up to now?

Swift looked at Balist and simply shrugged tossing him a ball of energy that swift had used to bind the weave to, as the energy touched Balist he could once again feel the weave the loom and all of the magic he had always known once again be bound to him.

Swift shrugged again and was about to ask how he could be of service when he fel the disturbance, he felt it first as the divine power washed over him stripping some information he knew he should not forget, then he felt the moon crack and the walls of the great library shake as it’s forces resisted the divine invasion that sought to remove that which it had stored.

Suddenly rushed swift spoke quickly then vanished

“” perhaps I might find good use of a strong ally and one who shares my love of magical forces, but for now there is more pressing matters to attend””

With not another word Swift vanished appearing on the Golden moon, Crackes had begun to form across the library walls but it’s power for now continued to hold. Swift did not know what information he had suddenly forgotten and he did not know why but knowledge was his domain and he refused to lose so much as the smallest fact from his records.

Divine power poured forth from Swifts form flowing into the library mending the cracks and soon the moon calmed the library remained intact and it had pushed itself past the divine force. Swift knew at that moment that something changed, some force had altered existence at it’s very core. He knew not what force was strong enough to effect existence to such a extent however there was no question that something was not as it was.

Swift quickly entered the library and begun consulting the great book and it’s spectral librarian it would be slow going without knowing what exactly had changed and what bit of information he had lost but he would recover the lost information.

~Dun'At (the plane for the afterlife, which has been mentioned around one time so far I think)~

Vasa breathed deeply of the cool air. It was fragrant with the wetness of a gentle stream the pollon of amorous plants. It was evening: the fish were kissing the surface of the water, the first crickets of the night were tuning their violins, and the fireflies were preparing for their show.

No... Vasa shook her head. It wasn't evening, it was dawn, wasn't it? Things were settling down for the start of a new day. It was the still, soft, dew-webby hours that only early risers got to enjoy. She glanced at her brother, who was strolling along the stream besides her. He was young, ever so young.

No... Vasa shook her head. He was older, no longer a boy, wasn't he? Both of them were adults... weren't they?

As she tried to focus Vasa sensed that these weren't new thoughts. She had pondered these questions before... yet the more she tried to focus on it, the slipperier they became. At last Vasa slid her hand into that of her boyish brother's and they continued to walk along the stream in forgetfullness. They were in Iban, a realm that existed in the space between the ticks and the tocks of the clock. They had themselves made this place, although they had meant it for the spirits of the dead. Those who had suffered greatly in life and who were scarred by that suffering. They were sent here so that their sorrows might be soothed and forgotten. The Twins hadn't realized how potent the realm was.

PP Show

2PP Craft Minor - Iban, the Forgetting Realm. Iban is a  demiplane that exists within the full plane, Dun'At, which as you might recall is only accessible through Sha'a itself. It is where some souls of the dead are sent to be renewed and refreshed. The plane promotes calmness and fond memories in those who enter it: this can, of course, be resisted.

It nicely explains why V&V have been gone for a while: they lost themselves here.

Seeing the other god leave in a hurry, Balist smiled to himself. "I might be able to use that one yet as useless as he really is...."

Speaking to no one in particular, "Don't worry Altair, your turn will come soon. You will have your destruction, and this world will be torn asunder! Just like you wanted Grandfather! This world will be torn and you can then find her in piece just like you wanted!"

Turning, he tried to summon his staff again not finding any response, Balist focused his mental abilities on his staff, and after much patience and effort, the "staff" finally appeared before him.

"What is this? What fool attaches a greatsword to a staff of power?" Taking the Staff/sword and breaking it over his knee where it attaches, he tosses the sword off to the side for now. As the sword flies, it sinking into a sturdy rock in the corner almost upto its hilt.

Feeling the power course through him again, he knew it was almost time to let them all know he was still alive. Working the weave, he made it stronger and more useful for what was to come.

~The Gith Base~
While a small scout group of a mage, a cleric, and a couple of reavers made their way across the great rift, the main army had started to arrive.

The clerics looked to the azure moon and knew that the time was very close at hand. A sign is all they needed to release their troops across the land, and the land would be theirs!

as I haven't seen timmy around lately, and I didn't see qlenoya in the reset log, I'm going to guess he's taken a leave of action for now. As such I'm going to reclaim my staff that he was holding onto for now if no one minds. It kinda came with his sword as he attached the two, so.....sword in the stone anyone? I may claim it later for myself if no one minds, or I may just toss it into the world and see what chaos it causes. Any ideas?

As Garith watched over his people spread across the realm there prayers and destruction feeding him More power as they went, he began to feel a connection to the very essence of destruction.

Meanwhile across the realm the varies intelligent races would begin to connect the dark ‘gods’ name with the destruction and havoc the goblin hoards cause, and no matter how fast the races slaughter them the goblins just seam to breed and mature that much faster always able to replace each new death with a fresh goblin.

So threw out the years the goblins continued there war with the world, spreading to every corner of the realm and infesting every inhabitable place. Though they bread fast there war like nature meant that so many died the population neither grew nor dwindled.

This age would be known as the dark age, a age in which many warlike races began to mobilize across the globe. The goblins from Althas forest, The dragon Born of the Elghin Empire begin to mobilize for war and riches in other places the Gith and many other war torn races begin the war against the settled races of the world no mortal or god could deny the dark shadow that has grown across the world

~Azha~

Altair grew quickly for a Zobaga, reaching young adulthood and the emergence of his wings two years ahead of schedule, an event which shocked his parents, who had both been slow-growers themselves.  As was customary, they offered their son a sword, a symbol of dedication to a cause and  the seal of their clan, to commemorate the event.  And if the sword seemed to have light caress its surface a little more than other swords of its kind, no one noticed.

~Tower of Hril~

"Thank you... I will do just that." The Reaper said, turning to look up towards the Portal.

As she approached, she paused on the Threshold.

"You have been polite to me, a stranger.  I feel I should offer my thanks in some way."

The Reaper gestured to the mists and fog far below, and two massive shapes pulled themselves from the rock, stood and looked with stony glances at one another then took steps and stood before the entrance to the Tower.

And with that, The Reaper stepped through and into the other realm.

~The Sun~

No one was close enough to hear it, but the Sun... was creaking.  A very slight and tremulous creak, like what a rocking chair might make, but... had someone been able to hear it... they would conclude that it was growing... louder.

As swift continues to study and learn within the library it absorbs some of his power for it’s own growth; Thus empowering them both.

Meanwhile in Althas forest Garith continues to guide his followers as they spread across the realm.

In the mountains however the goblins meat with a force they were unprepared for even as numerous as the goblins were the dragon born army descending to meat them from the Elghinn Empire subdued them with great ease, the advanced tactics superior natural might and almost even numbers made the goblin hoard little more then a fun exercise however the Elghinn empire saw better purpose for the small goblin then to wet there claws and blades

As such the forces of the Elghinn empire traveled behind a army of goblin fodder intent on war and slaughter that would benefit both races though mainly the dragon born who would freely use the goblins as they would simple arrows.

So it was the forces moved onto Althas forest to conquer the settlement there and gather a even larger hoard of goblins. The dragon born in turn learned of the goblin lord and though unwilling to warship him as there god they began paying him due respect as the prime force of destruction.

Garith grew stronger from this, though they were not his children there respectful prayer brought him trickles of power and the destruction they would cause pleased him greatly thus he commanded his goblin hoard to follow them and do there bidding in the days to come.

Feeling the sudden shift in the world around him, Izuru retreated from the Hall of the King, to gather his thoughts and consider the reprecussions of sensing such a powerful being vanishing into thin air. Perhaps it was time to visit his parents once more.

-----

Battered and bruised, Arien pulled himself over the edge of the cliff and tumbled to the ground exhausted. For days they had tread through the deepest parts of the veil, assaulted constantly by powerful eidolons, slowly picking off the trackers and scouts of his party.

Even when safety finally presented itself, and they penetrated into the umbra, mist so thick that no light penetrates from the sun, and found the eidolons ceased thier pursuit, they found no safety as they began to sucumb to fear and blindness, jumping at shadows and loosing each other in the darkness all around.

Numbering only four, himself, his sister, a zobaga, and an elf, they reached their destination. A lonely mountain reaching skyward to breach umbra and veil both. Slowly they climbed this unexplored peak, suffering even more setbacks. First, eidolon attacks returned as they made their way higher, forcing them off route and in long winding rounabouts. Then, in a critical moment, he  lost his grip and began to fall. Though a safety line caught him, his pack ripped free, sending most of their remaining food tumbling away, lost.

Then the worst, when an eidolon of flame has caught them resting. Though three had ecaped, the cost had been high as the elf stayed behind to delay the creature and buy them time. Finally, this morning, he had lost the zobaga in the mist. Unable to find him, they continued his ascent, finally reaching this point.

The pinnacle of the legendary mountain top, free of mist. Exhaustion weighing harshly upon his shoulders, and nearly blinded by the brillint light of the sun, which he had never truly experienced, he crawled to his feet and looked out over his homeland. Spread out before him like a tapestry, he could see the forests and grasslands below, dying in the withering sunlight as the small pockets of mist scattered all about shrank more and more, day by day.

Gathering his frayed thoughts, he reached down and grasped his sisters arm, pulling her to the top as well. Arm in arm, they stumbled over to the tree, learning against it'ssilvery bark, startled by the intense heat generated by it.

Looking more closely, he frowned. "The elders were right, sister. See the dark splotches in the bark and the grey fuzz growing on the leaves," he said, lifting a handful of the blue leaves from the ground, showing the fuzz. "It is dying. Our people are lost."

No.

Startled, they looked about, jumping as branches grasped at their shoulders.

Though I perish on the morrow, all is not lost, children of the mist. That you have come this far as assured that is shall not be so. Crafted by the god in ages long since past and forgotten as a gift for his chosen children, I shall vanish into the mists of history, and she shall join with me extending our life, with you as our chosen guardian. Choose this path, or choose the death of this land, but choose you must.

Exhausted and unable to think, he stared at his sister in a daze. Neither option was thinkable. His home or his sister. How could he be forced to choose? Still lost in the options, he didn't even realize that he had no choice in the matter, as his sister made it for him, placing her hand firmly on the bark. "Take me, that you might continue to live and protect our people."

Shocked, he reached for her, crying out even as she fell into the tree, vanishing from sight. Dropp to his knees in anguish, he felt the branch on his shoulder once more.

It is alright brother. Let me explain what you must do.

-----

Doomsday prophets and omen readers across the world went into an uproar overnight. Common folk cowered, fearful of the end of days, and the knowledgable faltered, confused at the unknown phenomena that appeared over night.

The azure moon, a symbol of magic and a boon to lovers seeking each other in the safety of night, seemed to change. One day it was normal, and then, wih a single passing of night, the moon shifted and changed, turning a dark violet.

For three days, the moon's color was off, confusing mortals and gods alike.

-----

On the moon, the surface shifted, bubbled, and mixed, changed colors. Had anyone, god or mortal, been around, they might have felt a deep sense of unease, as if something were watching them, watching and waiting.

Worse, had they looked around and known what they were looking for, they would have found the loom mysteriously gone, vanished beneath the moon's surface.

-----

The five figures stood around the glowing node, chanting anbd murmuring their ritual as sparks scattered about and the ground shook beneath them. Arcs of lightning erupted outward from the glowing mass of energy, barely missing them as the ritual continued unabated.

At first, they thought that surely their vision was fairling, as sparkles of light burst into being all around them, filling the air with a pale glow. Then, lightning ertuped forth from the glowing lights, crackling cords of white fire filling the air with a pungent spell as they lashed out, only the chants of the ritual shielding the five from destruction. The entire chamber shook in sympathy as the sound of thunder leaft them unable to even hear their own chanting and dust filled the air. And then it was done, the lights slowly blinking out and the dust settling to the ground.

Sweat trickled down her neck as she leaned against the nearby wall, still partially blinded by the brilliant energies unleashed by the ritual. Wiping the sweat from her forehead and blinking to clear her vision, she looked expectantly at the center of the room.

From within, a pale white light caressed outwards, casting everything in an odd shade. Around the glowing node, ghostly chains creaked and groaned as they slowly tightened their grip on the powerful energies they shackled, constricting tighter with every moment, to draw forth the the desired power for the four figures surrounding it. Remembering herself, she straightened up and brought her heels together and awaited their command.

None of the four moved for the longest moment, then one waved his hand, energy crackling in the air as he opened some sort of glowing rift. "It is as powerful as Lilian said it would be. The power harvested here is almost as great as the one within our homeland. Still, the link remains weak and tenuous. Alric, you remain here to monitor the shackles, and we three will return home to continue our research. Agreed?" The other three nodded quietly, then he and two others passed through the gateway, leaving the two silent in the chamber.

Glancing her way, he shook his head. "At ease Lilian."

"It would not be proper, sir."

"It would be less so to disobey an order from an ascendant, would it not?"

Realizing her plight, she complied, allowing herself to lean against the wall once more. Leaning beside her, Alric shrugged. "This is your first link, isn't it?" he said, ignoring her as she nodded. "The first one is always something special. I recall the original node. The node burst at the end, and washed the room in flames that did not burn. It was then that we realized just how much power we were harnessing."

"Still, we lack the strength we need. You are a full fledged member of the Brotherhood now." She glanced at him, confused. "Yes, an acolyte normally needs four or five links for that priviledge. But most nodes do not possess this much strength. Once you master it's use, you'll be stronger than many of your peers."

"Still, that is not the point. You should know our end goal. What do you know of our purpose?"

She shrugged. "We harness the nodes and use their power to ward the weak. The second is the main reason I joined, to protect the weak."

He nodded knowingly. "And that is all most should know. Our goal is to protect the weak. But not in the simple fashion you would think. Before the gods, we are all weak. And, according to the teachings, the burning sun high above belongs to a god, a beacon to help him find something he has lost. In the end, the brotherhood's goal is to darken the sun itself, and protect all those living beneath's its vicious gaze."

Watching her stunned look, he smiled. "Still, we are far from that point, so very far." he cast a glance at the node as it began to shimmer. "Stay still. Something is coming forth."

With a quiet jolt, thunder without sound rolled through the room, sending searing pain rushing through them as ghostly energies erupted skyward, passing through the ground and loosed into the world above. Grimacing in pain, he called on the core node, opening passage to the surface, dragging her through with him.

Looking skyward, the watched the energies gather and swirl in the air, thickening with each passing moment until nothing could be seen through them and the sun was blocked from view. Then, with a single horrendous roar, the beast burst from the fog of energy, landing heavily on the ground.

Glancing at the nearby eladrin and elf, it spoke in a low gravely voice. "You control the node. Where is my battle?"

During the days following the godfall event, many rumors and conjecture went about the mortal races as to what happened. All they knew was that two powerful beings squared off, and a large explosion happened, thus causing a massive crater, and only one of said beings was known to be alive. The truth, is mostly unknown as there were no survivors among the mortals, and the two divine beings that were there that watched had been tossed by the blast.

And so it came to pass.....Many years had came and gone. Many generations, and new peoples had populated the realms. Yet, the crater remains as a reminder of what power the gods have.

A small yet oftly dismissed prophecy, is sometimes uttered among the clergy of the different orders. Most dismiss it as just a fallacy, or rumour. Those of the order of light in the zobaga empire outright dismiss it as heresy and had banned all talk of this so called prophecy. Maybe they should have listened...

"On the night of the full azure moon, it will cross paths with the sun and the golden moon, and a storm will come the next night. This storm will herald the return of the fallen!"

On the night of the lunar eclipse of the azure moon, the golden moon, and the sun, a small party of a mage, a cleric, and 3 ravagers had arrived at the edge of the ancient forest, on the border of the forest and the godfall crater. They dared not travel any further due to the fear emanating out from the powerful tree inside the forest, but they didn't have to for a certain one to know the ones he was waiting on to arrive.

At the base of a massive tree a firelight lily and a frostshadow rose had grown. These two older than even normal standards having been touched and birthed by a divine being.

A shadow appeared between the two: "Go forth and find the fragments of the spellpattern that causes destruction. You will gain much power from it." And just like that the shadow was gone.

The party left that night on their new quest, and headed northwards yet again in search of this spellpattern of destruction.

The very next night, saw a storm of massive porportions. From as far south as kenderhome, to as far north as the upper coast, a storm blacker than night and more fierce than any had ever known ravaged the land. A week later it finally blew out, and people went out to rebuild and return to normal lives....Too bad nothing would ever be normal again.

~The Court of the King of the Gods~
As the storm ravaged outside, the door fluttered a bit, but those inside barely noticed. At least until it burst open from a particularly powerful gust. Through that door in walked a shadowy person, cloaked, yet dry even though he should be soaked through.

Holding his staff at his side in his gauntleted hand, he spoke promptly and with out recourse. "I have returned Grandfather."

Looking at the person now sitting in the throne, his eyes raised, "You are not my Grandfather. Where is Altair King of gods, God of Light? And Who are you?"

~The Gith Base~

As the storm ravaged the northern part of the continent, the gith let loose an army of ravagers across the land. The signal given, the army slowly moved across destroying all in its path. Countless villages fell before the sudden onslaught. Most were caught unaware before falling. Others were more lucky and were able to escape or survived by hiding in caves, or in forests. By the time the storm ended in the north, the gith army was already getting ready to besiege the city of constantine.

2PP: Forge artifact: Spellpattern of destruction: This artifact was (supposedly) broken into 5 pieces after the godfall event. Spread throughout the land, it contains the ritual used to create the starfall energy blast that created the crater (although this one isn't nearly as powerful.) A god, or a small group of mages may use this ritual to cause massive destruction in a one mile radius. (equivalent of a small nuclear blast minus the fallout).

1-3PP Harm: I'm not entirely sure of which and how many races are south of constantine currently. I know goblins have made their way that way, and have subsequently became easy meals for the ravagers, but I'm not sure what other races are down there, hence the variable PP cost.
