Looks interesting. I might have to contact some of the authors and ask them if I can borrow some of their stuff.

I would consider the Ogre,Ogre Magi and Half -Ogre from savage species. This could give you a fantasy version of japan? I might also consider Ettins as npcs. I like the idea of Ettins as comedy duos. Imagine an female ettin based off Laverne and Shirley,with Lenny and Squiggy as the boyfreind?

In 2ED D+D orcs and ogres would crossbreed and form an Ogrillion. Most Ogrillions were devotees of Baghtu,the orc god of strength and relied on punching attacks. Since orcs and ogres still mingle I assume some sort of ogrillion is still possible. Hobgoblinised

Now,the biggest drawback I can see with Hobgoblins is their tendancy to engage in intense inter-tribal warfare. If every hobgoblin declared a truce for 100 years they could hand a lot of grief to the good races. In order to create a nation of forty tribes or roughly 6000 adult hobgoblins I propose the three following social mechanisms to build racial cohesion. Obsidian Order

A nation of 6000 hobgoblins could support 1 rogue per 100 adults. This group is open to males and females and renounces tribal loyalties. They assassinate non-conformists and spy on foreign races,may also contain some hobgoblin/human crossbreeds. Mostly low level and seperate from the tribal leaders who are also rogues. The Obsidian Order is based loosely off the Cardasssians of Star Trek. Battlepoets

60 Bards organised like the Obsidian Order. They are the Carrot to the Obsidian Order's Stick. While Battlepoets travel with tribes they are supposedely inter-tribal. Constantly stress racial glory. Priests

Now, hobgoblins follow the "Everybody Fights " rule with males and females following a warrior's path and learning the same weapons. But this is hardly the best idea. It would make more sense for the hobgoblins to seperate the male and female roles in combat. In a world with fast breeding humanoids putting your females into frontline combat roles is a poor strategy. Instead I envision hobgoblin females as missile troops and tactical reserve. A cheap missile weapon when you are making 50 % of your force missile troops. Hobgoblin females probably carry a double sized war pouch of 20 bullets and scavenge battlefields for scrap metal after every battle. spear

Mongoose Publishing had the Slayers Guides to various monsters. Rather than buy each one seperately I would get the Volume one compendium that covers ;Hobgoblins , Gnolls , Troglodyte , Bugbears , Trolls , Orcs , Dopplegangers and Tritons. This is an ecletic mix of 8 races in a hardcover book the size of the MM. Moongoose publishing has a website but I would visit amazon.com and check out the used. I also have the Paperback slayer's guide to Yuan-ti and Kobolds as well.

Now , You have Savage species. On page 132-133 they have a hob-goblin/griffin that is used to explain the tauric template. Imagine if hobgoblin tribes replaced their ogre or troll auxilliries with the Hobbo-griffins? This would give them flying scouts and of the preffered hob goblin blood as well.

If I was you I would consider adding the Minotaur from Savage Species as well. If Minotaurs were evolved cattle that were herbivores you could have fairly large communities of them. The pcs would be young males who were driven out of the community and were adventuring to grow in power so they could return home and kill their father and take over his herd? What sort of beer does a minotaur drink?
