Since Zeitgeist games (or Code Monkey, or whatever group last did it) no longer supports Blackmoor in 3E or 4E format, I'm wondering what (if anything) will be done with the IP.

I assume that WotC reclaimed the rights to the setting after Dave Arneson's death. Blackmoor is one of my favorite settings all-time, and it was one of the early ones from the 1970's, so it would be a shame to have it simply vanish.

WotC has taken back all licensed settings and has shown no interest in licensing it again. They have talked about doing one setting a year but that seems to be in question now since Ravenloft, the 2011 setting, has been put on hold last I knew. They also don't want to do settings that are too similar. That brings into question whether we will ever get Mystara, Grayhawk, etc. (Yes I know you could argue their is something unique about each setting but WotC hasn't expressed interest in doing them.)

Frankly I expect Blackmoor is sit in storage for a long time.
