I have finally succumbed to it, and made them. This basic rule system allows you to give your party a kingdom (in the broadest sense of the word... it could be as small as 3 farmhouses and a bit of farmland or as big as multiple continents across 3 different planes) and not only have it generate lots of stories and quests, but even be put to good use in helping your characters as well.
It's supposed to be fairly simple and straighforward, with minimal bookkeeping, nice effects, balance and enough RP options to satisfy everyone.
In a nutshell; kingdoms have 4 resources (food, materials, luxuries and weapons) which they use to feed the populace, upgrade key structures and expand the kingdom. Each kingdom contains a few key buildings as well as a bunch of Notables, or important NPCs.
The kingdom faces Challenges that try to destroy it, and the players can use their skills as well as those of the kingdom and all the great minds and strong men in it to deal with these Challenges and push their kingdoms to the next level.
