But so is the Gloom Pact Binder.

Cattle die, kindred die, every man is mortal. But the good name never dies of one who has done well.

Captain Morality! (No point in not having fun with it. ;-))

Also, I always treated the Gloom pact as the Dark pact for the purpose of paragon paths and the like.

Why treat Dark and Gloom the same?
One comes from the Underdark filled with pain, poison, and hate the other comes from the Shadowfell filled with sadness, undeath, and fear.

The sea looks at the stabillity of the mountian and sighs.
The mountian watches the freedom of the sea and cries.

Well, isn't pain thematically similar to sadness? Poison to Undeath? And re: hate and fear, there's alway's this, courtesy Yoda;

Fear is the path to the Dark Side. Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering.

It makes perfect sense to me. I'm going to house rule the Dark pact into the Gloom pact myself.

Will Thibault is a winged, feathered serpent rarely found anywhere except in warm, jungle-like regions or flying through the ether. Due to his intelligence and powers he is regarded with awe by the inhabitants of his homelands and is considered to be divine.

@Siberys the Dark Pact has bugger all to do with the Shadowfell. It should be obvious that the Dark pact is very similar to the Star Pact. The major denizens of the Underdark have had the aberrant link with the Far Realms in all versions of the game.

The Gloom pact has nothing to do with the Dark Pact or its power source. I realise that this is something a number of people are throwing around right now.

People we are apparently finding ways to try to integrate substandard materials into our game on the basis that that is what we are being handed (as evidenced by people's attempts to Dark=Gloom pact etc). I understand your reaction and applaud your efforts in many ways, but why dont we simply hand back the crap and suggest they come up with something decent before they get any more money from us.
