Enjoyed playing (and painting) the first in the series so was looking forward to getting my grubby little fingers on a copy of this as soon as it came out.

Zipped through the Wrath of Ashardalon game contents, again all speedpainted using the same techniques as CR. This is the follow up to Castle Ravenloft and while a lot of the miniatures seem to be recycled clix figures there are still some little gems in there.

This is how they come, single colour lumps of plastic

This is how they end up after a tickle with the hairy stick...

Gibbering mouthers and other crazy stuff in this one

5 more heroes to be devoured!

The box villains, orcs are nice sculpts too

Cultists, cave bears and a weird tentacally thing with losts of teeth (always the worst type)

Ashardalon himself, kept him simply but bold, a 3 colour scheme

Roll on the next expansion, they make a nice change from my usual Sci Fi stuff!

Wow! Excellent, these are masterful! I set my sights way too low, seeing the detail you brought out, I'm approaching these differently now.

Looks great!  I'm prepping up to paint my set as well, once I'm done with some other stuff.  I picked up Wrath two weeks ago and my girlfriend loved it so much she bought my Ravenloft as a present.  Looks like I've got some work to do.

*edited, after seeing your post in the other thread

I looked at both posts of your painted miniatures for WoA and CR.

WOW! I am blown away by the quality of your work. It almost makes them seem like entirely new games, as compared to the unpainted figures.

I have never painted miniatures, and would love to try, but after seeing this I don't think I would be happy unless I was able to create something like you have done.

You wouldn't happen to be willing to share detailed info about what you used and how you used it, would you? Or perhaps point us in the right direction on figuring out how to do this ourselves?

Again, kudos for being so awesome.

I completely agree with Alexrok. Some hints of how to (at least try to) recreate your work would be awesome!

Wow! Wish I could paint like that. Luckily, I have a lot of pre-painted D&D minis and just substitute them, back for the upcoming Legend of Drizzt Board Game, I'd love to have such a paint quality. Can you teach me?

Sweet! I love your painting style, very graphical. Makes the figures look like three-dimensional illustrations. Great stuff.
Advice for DMs: When you are ad lib or improve DMing don't self-edit yourself. Some of the most fun you'll ever have is by just going with whatever crazy thing crosses your mind based on what your players are doing.

Advice for Players: When your DM is ad libbing there are bound to be plot holes and inconsistencies that crop up. You'll all have a lot more fun if you just roll with it instead of nitpicking the details.

Previous Advice Show

Advice for DMs:
Always dangle a lot of plot hooks in front of you players. Anything they do not bite you can bring back and bite them later.

When considering a new house rule ask yourself the question "Will this make the game more fun?" Unless the answer is a resounding yes don't do it.

Advice for Players:
Always tell the DM not just what you want to do but also what you are hoping to accomplish. No matter how logical the result is it will never happen if it simply never occurred to the DM.

"That's what my character would do" is not a valid excuse for being a disruptive ass at the table. Your right to have fun only extends to the point where it impedes the ability of others to do likewise.

I know for a fact I can't paint to save my life. Those minis look fantastic, hats off to you sir! Can I just ship you my minis in their sealed bags (just got the game yesterday) and you can send them back all pretty? I'll pay whatever you want :-)
