posted melee weapons, but haven't posted my group's wacky ranged weapons yet:
-Anti-gravity yo-yo -floating spike drones -cat bazooka (the mythic character in our group has a bunch of cat worshippers. He fires his followers from his bazooka. They scratch up the enemies' faces a bit and then they come running back to him) -throw self (the doppleganger swarm threw copies of himself at opponents) -tesla gun -spork-launching crossbow

Light Melee - gumball machine, robot leg, street sign beaten into a crude ax, fence post, an oscar, bowling pins,
Light Ranged - Sling shot, water gun filled with acid rain water, highly modified nerf gun firing stefans, water baloon cannon (can fire other things besides water balloons, water gun filled with flammable liquid and turned into makeshift flame thrower.
Heavy Ranged - mechanical pitching machine, potato cannon, others when I think of it.

One of my players is using a broken shieldbot as melee weapon, ranged weapon, and shield. When she pulls the appropriate wires, blades flick out, and others, it fires its laser.

, flail made out of Cat-5 cable and washers.
That sounds really painful.
Theres a whole host of natural weapons you could improvise too - if players want claws, fangs, horns, hooves, tentacles etc. . . most of those could fall under the same headings, since natural weapons arent specified in the book. Its what my group does.

Yeah, if one of my player's wants to just use natural weapons, I just decide whether the claw/bite/tentacle/beak would be a quick melee or heavy melee attack.
Somewhat related, one of my players rolled temporal/electrokinetic and read "temporal" as "tempura." For that reason, his character is a time-travelling shrimp with an electric claw attack.

Most of the time my players are boring with their weapon descriptions. I've got a sword! I've got a gun! "BIG DEAL", I tell them. So our Yeti/Cockroach came up with a 20 lbs dumbell on a rope to use as a fail. I think he did it to please me, but now she loves that thing!

Since the thread is lacking ranged weapons: Fine China (thrown), Nailgun, Rail Spike Gun, Riveter, Faberge Eggs (thrown), Insect Hive (preferably fired from a cannon), Deck of Glass Hologram Cards
Melee: Car Jack, Jackhammer, Chandelier, Blowtorch (with or without fuel), Umbrella made of metal sheets
Keep in mind, this is the year six monkey slap-slap, so things that did not exist in our time could exist in theirs.
Currently Playing: lvl 6 Pixie Skald in Home Campaign lvl 2 Human Bard in Forgotten Realms ---

moose - I'm glad someone picked up on that! Haha. Crimson - The thread is probably lacking in ranged weapon ideas because it's titled "Melee weapon ideas." However, here are some ranged weapon ideas that aren't too over the top (Faberge eggs?? Really??) Atl-atl Bar darts Bricks CDs & DVDs Glass shards Hammer-throw "hammer" Lacrosse stick and balls Overclocked office stapler Pool balls Rats (reimagining the "Rat Swarm" origin as a "Willard" style character) Vinyl albums (a la "Shaun of the Dead") Xistera and pelota (jai alai equipment)
