That's a really nice build...   I been looking at ways to mess around with the avenger and have to admit, this is really nice.

Another good way to beef it up would be to put the wilder theme on it maybe (Give a UNT crit chance bonus) and then pick up the feet that allows you to gain THP when you crit.  Would add a TON of survivability to the build ontop of all that damage for basically 1 feat.

Very cool build, are you planning on statting it out at all for playtest, or are you just crunching number and stuff for now? I'm playing an Archer Ranger now, but this is a cool idea for a melee oriented PC.

Sadly for that plan, "1 feat" is extremely expensive in this build. Speaking of room for improvement though, if anyone knows of an item or feat that lets me gain a minor action when I crit, that would be amazing.

I'm looking at it, and you are taking Gith blade master or VWP, and then in paragon taking heavy blade prof.  Why take both?  They wont stack.  Just retrain into whichever you want, and then you have a feat slot opened up.

EDIT
And I checked here community.wizards.com/go/thread/view/758...
and didn't see any way to gain a minor off a crit, but it's not been updated in a while.  So I'm thinking no, but will keep looking for ya.

Actually, no, I'm taking Heavy Blade Expertise at 11. GBM/VWT is +feat to damage, HBE is +feat to attack. They do different things.

Nice find there. Question would this be applicable to slayers.

The bit where you take dual weapon attack, yes. The rest of it, not really, because this build is highly reliant on Oath of Emnity. We don't have to care much about accuracy and we have a ludicrous crit chance, which allows us to eschew normal feats in favor of setting up all the damage combos.

As far as Essentials classes stealing DWA goes, Slayers are behind Thieves, thanks to the Thief's ability to use the Unbalancing Trick + Headsman's Chop combo and the fact that Thieves can go pure DEX with no losses. You're also missing the off-action encounters and that second easy-to-obtain minor encounter power, which is actually quite important, as opposed to the Avenger who can have up to 3 minor encounters at Paragon and 5 by 30. (I didn't take them all in this build, because they won't contribute significantly to DPR without a Ring of Free Time, but the level 16 build will probably use an additional Ranger minor.)

So yeah, DWA Slayer's not going to suck, it's just going to be even slower to take off than this build does, and this build has a hell of a taxi distance as-is.

Personally, I like the Gith route the best, thought that's just my opinion.
As far as you mentioned with the Minor after Crit feat, there might be one which will allow it, but I'm not totally sure...I'd say try and double check the Compendium, or see if there's any items or class features that'll enable it.

The main advantage of the Elf is for that extra square of speed and the occasional reroll against an II target who isn't your oath target.
