There was a playtest feat which effectively gave the Essassin an Ossassin daily in exchange for one of its poison 'dailies'. Doesn't this mean that we can now with MC-Rogue > trade-in feat > Power Swap get Knockout at an earlier level than 20?
Yes, that is what it means. I'll have quite a bit of updating to do when the playtest material becomes official, including finally having to account for the O-Assassin's Shroud support. Blech.
But, yeah, the opportunity to pick up a Rogue daily is pretty sexy. Knockout, Bloodbath, Cruel Pursuit, Kiss of Death ... very nice set. All of a sudden an Executioner might actually be able to pick up a decent nova, even if only once/day.
EDIT: Or maybe I'll just rate the new Master of Shrouds feature red and be done with it, as I've just now glanced over the Assassin's Shroud feat support and pretty much none of it brings it up to the level of Attack Finesse's tier-scaling amount of d8s you get just because.
EDIT2: Another fun fact that has only recently become relevant: Assassin's Strike actually adds its damage to any weapon attack, be it at-will ... or a daily. Shadow Master/MC Rogue/power swap for Assassin's Point and stick Assassin's Strike on top of that. That could be interesting, even if I'd probably still take Knockout or a multi-attacker in the end.
D&DN Paladin: Half-Fighter, half-Cleric, all useless. D&DN Ranger: Third-Fighter, third-Rogue, third-Druid, all useless. With one interesting concept that has its execution botched. My 4e Character Op work:Character guides

Okay, I actually went ahead and did the updates. Easier that way, and I can always edit if something changes. (I don't think these new options will, though.) Also added daily powers (via Shadow Master -> Adept Power) in the MC section that are good pickups for nova-ing.
I'll deal with updating the sample builds later on, too, since those are no longer remotely optimized.

What is the point of Versatile Defense? I'm building my first Executioner and it seems like an afterthought. Yay, free feat that is almost useless for most builds? Then again, I'm probably doing it wrong as I'm not the best at optimizing.

A +1 shield bonus to defense for a common weapon configuration is far from pointless. And you get it for free.

Thanks for bringing me back to reality. I guess it seems less useful because I'm trying to make a League of Whispers Executioner and a Light Shield doesn't really work with a two handed ranged weapon... and neither does Two Weapon Defense. I suppose for a Red Scale it's pretty great.

I don't know if this has been suggested before, as I haven't read all 29 pages of this thread, but I think the Assassin's Cloak from AV2 deserves some sort of mention. Roll twice on stealth checks and a power that makes you invisible from enemies within 2 squares sounds pretty good to me.

There is one edge case for shrouds, but I doubt it'd raise them above Red for anything but a one-shot - the Perfect Slayer ED's capstone of not removing on invocation. Adding 4d8+40 to pretty much every attack sounds like fun.

And with the feat that lets you move shrouds combined with the ED utility that stacks 4 shrouds automatically, you get that from round 1 on all attacks. Can probably build a niche Str/Dex build that power swaps for a Ranger, Fighter, or Barbarian multiattack. Unless there's a restriction on invoking shrouds...?

Already working on it. The encounter options are not so hot, but there are advantages.

You're the straightest shooter I know on these boards. You don't mince words about your opinions, and I respect that about you. The whole fiasco you described in the last State of the CO Forum was particularly enlightening (and kind of disappointing with regards to how they see us).
Ah, Tsuyo. When your post isn't one sentence long full of asterisks, you have much wisdom to share with us .
From the IRC: (19:52) RuinsFate: You know, I was gonna agree with something PalOn said... but I think I'm just gonna through my lot in with tsuyo's sudden train-wreck grade interjection.

I saw the build. Good work, though too bad that the trick depends on the lv 30 capstone. I think I'll stick with Attack Finesse for my Executioners.
As as aside, how do Shroud-Assassins deal damage on a miss? By still invoking the shrouds? I thought you could only do that on a hit.
