After seeing the video preview I can tell that the new CB is indeed headed in the right direction. I know you guys have taken a lot of flack for the changes, but as one software developer to another, its easy to tell that this is going to be an improvement. Just, for example, the different approach it takes to starting the character creation process is a big improvement that will be much more understandable to people new to the game (describes almost everyone I play with).

In terms of features, I would really love Power Cards that print on index size cards. I play with people over 50 and the small text can be really hard on the eyes.

I didn't say it COULDN'T be done, it's just difficult (with windows anyways, linux is pretty strong by itself).

You're an intelligent guy, Mellored.  I'll bet you could spend 30 minutes (tops) on Google and do it.

Just don't fall for that old school ALT-F4 joke.

Reflavoring: the change of flavor without changing any mechanical part of the game, no matter how small, in order to fit the mechanics to an otherwise unsupported concept.
Retexturing: the change of flavor (with at most minor mechanical adaptations) in order to effortlessly create support for a concept without inventing anything new.
Houseruling: the change, either minor or major, of the mechanics in order to better reflect a certain aspect of the game, including adapting the rules to fit an otherwise unsupported concept.
Homebrewing: the complete invention of something new that fits within the system in order to reflect an unsupported concept.

Default module =/= Core mechanic.

That's... an awesome wallpaper. I'm already too geeky to risk putting this on my Mac. And yet...

???? Why his demo works?

It's probably running from a staging server. It's probably just not deployed yet. Funny to see that they use Prototype.

It does not necessarily makes them excellent IT personnel, it simply makes them knowledgeable.  An excellent IT person weights the company needs and policies against what is actually implemented.  You cannot possibly make the determination what work computers can and cannot be used for in every situation.  Not to mention, many companies allow their employees freedom to surf for many reasons, such as trust, breaks, morale, education, etc.

The Wizards.com site seems to have a lot of issues with foreign language browsers.  Try contacting Customer Support and see if they can clear it up for you.

So I guess we know why he kept selecting 'pick for me'. Because selecting almost anything else crashes the CB and/or doesn't work in the slightest.

Seemed fast enough to me. That was an 8 minute video and 2 PCs created. I can live with that.

Can I get a "I told you so"?

"Nice assumptions. Completely wrong assumptions, but by jove if being incorrect stopped people from making idiotic statements, we wouldn't have modern internet subculture." Kerrus

Practical gameplay runs by neither RAW or RAI, but rather "A Compromise Between The Gist Of The Rule As I Recall Getting The Impression Of It That One Time I Read It And What Jerry Says He Remembers, Whatever, We'll Look It Up Later If Any Of Us Still Give A Damn." Erachima
