Overall I'd say these new cards look pretty good though I would second the idea that the gradiant should be removed. Makes them harder to read, especially on certain types of printers.
But good job, WoTC and thanks, Trevor.
OD&D, 1E and 2E challenged the player. 3E challenged the character, not the player. Now 4E takes it a step further by challenging a GROUP OF PLAYERS to work together as a TEAM. That's why I love 4E.

The one thing I don't like is that it does not show how it reaches the numbers listed - which means it will be much harder to figure out what is wrong when the numbers are not correct (do I not have the right equipment equipped? Did it forget about a feat? Much harder to figure out when the math is not shown)
Do you really want all that clutter on something the size of a power card? Because I sure as hell don't.
If WotC has any brains at all (granted, that's not an insignificant "if" of late), that information is somewhere in the character builder. If it isn't, it should be. Totally agree with you on that point. But I don't know what would possess you to say the power cards are the appropriate place for it.
Perhaps not, but I do want it available somewhere - and I most certainly DO want the information for secondary attacks listed (what is the point of having the math done for you if they are not going to do the math on secondary attacks?)

Could you post something that has a magical weapon/ implement equipped? I'm curious where the cards display the extra damage/ effects on critical hits.

I second this. Perhaps even with a Radiant Weapon (that adds enhancement bonus an additional time).

i dont think he has a weapon equipped
No, just to be clear, on the Chaos Bolt what we were seeing (already from one prerelease fricking screen shot!) IS a bug. Don't be misdirected by the other power that was displaying correctly due to lack of equipment.
Again I ask what sort of testing was done on this software? I think I know the answer already from seeing Trevor's one screenshot (and of course from the history of this fine fine team--Monster Builder, anyone?)
It is sort of pristine to see this bug here alone...I wonder what the 16th will bring us?

I think the gradients as backgrounds for text blocks is a bad choice. It makes those blocks of text hard to read. Those blocks will be even harder to read when printing because the print gradients are going to be inconsistent across different printers and ink reserves.
Having colored backgrounds to help break up the blocks of text is good, and matches the standard WoTC printed look. It's just the gradient that's an issue. Get rid of that.
Agreed.

@lancemoody: Because it is completely unheard of that a new piece of software has bugs? Seriously, I think you are blowing things out of proportion. The bug could have been caused by as little as a string concatenation or binding that was commented out for some reason. It's not like the whole thing was falling apart right there. Just get real and don't jump to false conclusions. Considering the bugs you can find in IBM/Oracle/Microsoft/RedHat/Canonical/Google products you could wonder if these companies did any testing at all.

First, the new cards look good.
A few questions...
Did you change/remove the "Action Point" card that is in the CBC?
Can the Wizard print all the cards for his spells not just his "Memmed" dailies/Utilities? I have a house rule that has the Wizard hot casting his choices for each level instead of using the previous editions' fire and forget Vancian casting. None of the other classes suffer through this, the Wizard shouldn't be any different.
Is there still a card with the stat summery with the power cards in this version of the CB?
Will there be a separate card keeping track of Power Points?
Terms you should know... Spoiler:
Show
Kit Build - A class build that is self sustaining and has mechanical differences than the normal scale. Started in Essentials. Most are call their own terms, though the Base Class should be said in front of their own terms (Like Assassin/Executioner)
Power Points - A mechanic that was wedged into the PHB3 classes (with the exception of the Monk) from the previous editions. This time, they are used to augment At Wills to be Encounters, thus eliminating the need to choose powers past 4th level. Mage Builds - Kit builds that are schools of magic for the Wizard. A call back to the previous editions powering up of the wizard. (Wizard/Necromancer, for example) Unlike the previous kit builds, Wizards simply lose their Scribe Rituals feature and most likely still can choose powers from any build, unlike the Kit Builds.
Parcel System - A treasure distribution method that keeps adventurers poor while forcing/advising the DM to get wish lists from players. The version 2.0 rolls for treasure instead of making a list, and is incomplete because of the lack of clarity about magic item rarity.

They will Essentialize the Essentials classes, otherwise known as Essentials2.
The new sub-sub-classes will be:
* Magician. A subsubclass of Mage, the magician has two implements, wand and hat, one familiar (rabbit) and series of basic tricks. * Crook. A subsubclass of Thief, the Crook can only use a shiv, which allows him to use his only power... Shank. * Angry Vicar, a subsubclass of warpriest, the angry vicar has two attacks -- Shame and Lecture. * Hitter. A subsubclass of Slayer, the Hitter hits things. * Gatherer. A subsubclass of Hunter, it doesn't actually do anything, but pick up the stuff other players might leave behind.
Future Essentials2 classes include the Security Guard (Sentinel2), the Hexknife (Hexblade2), the Webelos (Scout2), the Gallant (Cavalier2) and the Goofus (Knight2).
These will all be detailed in the box set called Heroes of the Futile Marketing.
(Though what they should really release tomorrow is the Essentialized version of the Witchalok!)

Sure, and with the great track record of superb programming like we saw on the Monster Builder...
Wait...What?
You know what, if I am wrong on the 16th, I will make this thread my 1st stop to apologize---see you here?

Bug free software is a myth. Anyone who tells you differently is trying to sell you something.... oh wait.... Honestly lance, as developer I'd never take such a bet because you're right. What matters is if said bug(s) get fixed once found.
