unless they're human, slayers don't get default fighter powers. That's not something 'open to interpretation'.
Well except for most of their utilities though I am not sure what we are talking about.

Ok, thank you for the clarification. I missed the sentence at the start of the section that stated it was applicable to Humans.

And going back to the Ki Focus thing. Iron body Ki Focus Might be worth it in a party where you get more heat than the defender(Story of my life)

I have a new player joining my Encounters table. He chose the pregen Dwarf Slayer for his first time around last week. I was hoping to make something a little better. Party makeup is Battle Cleric, Cavalier, Paladin, Wizard, and sometimes a Druid. We don't follow all the rules to a 'T' for Encounters. Since everyone has at least one piece of treasure and has totaled 580 in gold so far, I used the gold to buy his weapon, then gave him the boots as "found treasure". He is a brand new player, and pretty young, so I wanted to make this fun for him. Background is b/c he is currently diseased, so the 12 in endurance willl guarantee he will save on the next extended rest. Theme was chosen based on the fact that his stance powers favor charging. I was hoping he could charge most rounds at a target occupied by the Cavalier or Paladin, which would end up a +16 to hit based on the Berserker's Charge stance and either Single Out or charging into flanking. Please let me know if there is something I could do better here. Off the bat I could switch races to a STR/DEX bonus to get another +1 damage, and I will make an alternate version with Half-Orc or something else in case he doesn't care, but since he originally chose Dwarf, I thought I would stick with that. Spoiler:

Hi,
Just wondering, is the Impending Victory feat worthwhile for a Slayer? It seems that lots of what they do is at-wills, and by definition the circumstance that triggers that feat's bonus comes up half the time.
Later on, Ghorrin

Half-Elf just got an interesting boost for basic attack classes like the Slayer with Heroes of the Feywild. The new Bard at-wills are minor actions, and make it so for the rest of the encounter, every time you hit with an MBA, you apply a leader-ism to an ally within 5 squares (bonus to attacks, damage, or defenses, or temp HP, depending on which power you pick.)
It doesn't directly make you a better Striker, but it's a pretty nice thing to be giving out all encounter, every encounter, even in Heroic. It basically turns your basic attacks into leader at-wills that do high striker damage.

You have to pick up the aura as well, of course.

You do? Damn. That's what I get for only skimming the book. So much for that.

Heroes of the Feywild does give you something else, though.
Battle Berserker [Multiclass Barbarian] Prerequisite: Strength 13 Benefit: You gain training in a skill of your choice from the barbarian's list of class skills. You also gain the berserker barbarian's Berserker Fury feature , but you can use it only once per day.
To clarify, once per day, you take a minor action to enter the Berserker Fury (unless you've got a Barbarian Primal power) and for the rest of the encounter, you deal +1d8 per tier damage on melee basic attacks.
@Ragnell: I think that combo would work adequately on Dex/Cha Thieves, but again, you still have to pick up the aura to get the benefit properly.
