Thats the quote I meant I thought they said they were all caught up. Sorry.
No problem here - "on schedule" could easily suggest caught up, colloquially. However, like a D&D power, it's better to read these statements absolutely literally.

I really, really, really hope we get Essentials into the Builder soon.
My wife is in my homegame and is 9 months pregnant. She was due last Sunday. So, we plan on getting a new player or two as replacement which means teaching new players the rules. Now, it's a tad redundant to get the actual Essentials books when the table knows the rules, we have a copy of the Rules Compendium and regularly use DDI. I'm not going to ask them to drop money for a game they might want to keep playing, and I don't want to buy a book I'll almost certainly never use myself. Why pay $20 for the book when it's harder to make the character than using the Builder?
BUT the characters are so much easier and it would be very nice to give them a simple and easy character to play. Especially since they're jumping right in at 7th level. It would be awesome to have a DDE character while they get used to the game and upgrade after a couple sessions. But, I can't. It's very unlikely the game (already delayed 2-3 weeks) will be put off long enough for Essentials to make it into the Builder. Sigh. Ironic that WotC sets out to make a product for new players and then fails the one time I'm likely to run for new players.

Ah -- then what we have here can reasonably be interpreted as a promise to get Dark Sun and Heroes of the Fallen Lands into the Character Builder in the November update, and less directly that they don't expect any of the known future releases to foul up the update schedule again. That would be great news if things actually pan out that way.
Anyway -- my predictions about the updates seem to be coming true -- I did predict October 12th, with material missing or seriously buggy until the January update. They may have a serious chance to prove the second half of my prediction wrong next month.

Just an observation:
It amazes me the number of people who say "I bought Dark Sun/Essentials books to run in a campaign where we use the CB to make our characters and I'm annoyed that I can't make my Dark Sun character because the book isn't supported in the CB yet."
You know exactly what the CB supports. It's not guess work. So wait until DS is supported in the CB before you spend money on the DS books!!!! It's not rocket science.

Well, it has something to do with hope and trust (not thrust, which has to do with rocket sience).
Unfortunately these things are seldom understood and most of the time not justified...

Well, sure, but I bet most people were not "I bought it and it wasn't in the CB that same day" but more in the vein of "I bought it, and I should only have to wait a couple weeks to use it in earnest in the CB. We won't wrap up our existing stuff until then, so the timing ought to work out just about right."

Exactly. With every othe campaign setting. Every other book for that matter, you had to wait two weeks before you could use the tools for things in that book. there was no reason to suppose at the time that we would have to wait two (or more) months.

It's still an assumption though. And you know what they say about assumption and it's relations.
Personally, I'm definitely interested in the PP stuff. Now it's there I'll go out and buy the book as I can use it in CB. I think it makes sense to wait and buy the books when you can actually use them to make characters!
Also, for those of you who are interested in making WotC realise that DDi is important I think it would be sensible as it means WotC get no money from us for a book product until it is also fully supported in DDi. I have no idea of the numbers of DDi subscribers to non-DDi book buyers but if all DDi people waited till stuff was in DDi I'm sure they'd notice in their bottom line.

Is this mess up with updating the character builder with Dark Sun and essensials the first major delay to a CB update? If so, then its pretty fair to assume that the CB would be updated with DS and essensials within the time it took the other books to be updated. But WOTC worked on web based tools when everyone was waiting and waiting for the CB to be updated.
