The Radiant Morn: A Chaos Scar Adventure for Levels 6-8

by Daniel Marthaler

Ahead of you, the rough mouth of a cave yawns wide to reveal what   appears to be the interior of a chapel or temple. Inside, a small crowd   of gaunt, unkempt, and generally miserable-looking people kneel on the   stone floor or mill about quietly.

Talk about this Adventure here.

I really like the look of this adventure and plan to drop it into a non-chaos scar campaign ASAP. I like the mixture of humanoids and monsters, especially the Black Pudding. I find that a lot of the published adventures lately are humanoid heavy and it's nice to see some of the wierd-and-uglies make an appearance.

I'll post a full play-test review of this adventure once I run it, probably in two weeks time.

While I'm thinking about it, I would like to request from the editor of Dungeon a beast heavy dungeon crawl soon. It'd be nice to see a good selection of old school monsters; cubes, puddings, rust monsters, carrion crawlers, otyughs, etc.  This would fit nicely with the whole red box/essentials theme. There's something about ridding the world of slimy vermin that always goes down well with my players. Guilt free killing. Nobody worries about the baby rust monsters left behind....

The current edition is BECMI, the most popular form of Basic D&D and the adventure is the classic Red Box quest to kill Bargle the evil magic user. Check it out, learn about the games roots, and enjoy the story as it unfolds.

A chaos scar adventure that I actually like? Never thought I'd see the day.

More longer ones like this please.

Did anyone else read this as "Temple of the Radiant MOM" at first glance?

Maybe I should adjust my browser's fonts.
If your position is that the official rules don't matter, or that house rules can fix everything, please don't bother posting in forums about the official rules.  To do so is a waste of everyone's time.
