By Helm its out??
September, good sir. September.
Though knowing me, there will of course be lots of teasers and tie-ins and stuff to tease your appetite before the book itself is available.
Cheers

Neverwinter is coming out sooner, in August right? Shouldnt we be gettin some teasers for that one? ANything you can share? Will it have Essential style builds for the Swordmage? Perhaps some Themes? Im really hopin for some Realms specific Themes, and a cool fold out map of the city and its environs, well!?

I will say that at least a couple of your wishes are getting answered, and quite possibly a few you didn't know you had. I am very pleased with the product. I hope/suspect you'll really like new class, as well. One word: Bladesinger.Cheers

I haven't picked up a rulebook since Essentials supplanted core... but I am going to pick this one up. Bladesinger? Oh heck yes.
Oh.. and Erik's books are always on my "to buy" list... I just had more money with which to pick them up.
My approach to the NPCs of previous editions. Spoiler:
Show
I always saw the High Level NPCs as shepherds of the Realms not its defenders. Making sure that not too many sheep were lost as they milled around (as they are wont to do) and bringing on the young'uns into the job. In that way a shepherd never has time to go and hunt down all of the wolves but is pretty dashed effective at keeping them away from the sheep when they rear their heads. "It was a puzzle why things were always dragged kicking and screaming. No one ever seemed to want to, for example, lead them gently by the hand." - Terry Pratchett

I can't wait....oh man.
Also, Eric, good job on Shadowfell. I'm curious, was the crossroad thing with the corpse you? Cuz that's one of my favorite things in any of the campaign books for 4e.
More sex and gender equality and racial equality shouldn't even be an argument--it should simply be an assumption for any RPG that wants to stay relevant in the 21st century.
I could say anything in D&D is silly though, because it's a silly game and we are silly people.

Difficult to say, as that whole project was extremely collaborative. I do recall that I was heavily involved in the concepts behind Dead Man's Cross, though I think it was either Matt or Andy that nailed the corpse up there. (Which I highly approved, naturally!)
Though I do want to say the Dark Lady fountain was totally me. :D
Cheers
P.S. There's an interview for the Shadowfell boxed set floating around a couple places online. I should really post that on my website/blog and stuff! (Like this!)
