I have added a link to Valenkosh's Glossary thread, as I feel it is a valuable thing for both new readers and old-hands.

Quick question:  What exactly is "striker level damage"?  I've seen lots of people throw the term around.  Is there a handy table for what that is per level?

Wrong topic, you wanted ask a simple question.

Striker-level damage is defined rather tautologically: a character who does striker-level damage does as much proportional damage at level whatever as a somewhat generic striker does in the low-mid heroic range. In other words, in those levels a striker does about 30% standard monster HP damage on a hit, and can drop a standard from full to dead in a turn once every encounter or two. At later levels, it takes dedicated effort to maintain those numbers, because the damage scaling was very poor (due to a lack of playtesting at the higher tiers and a mistaken belief that 8-round encounters would be fun).

CharOp builds tend to beat the curve (sometimes quite dramatically) because, well, they can, but when we talk about striker-level damage, we're basically asking if the character in question has managed to keep up with the system math.

Ok, So I know that I am missing something here, but I'm starting to get frustrated.

Building a battle cleric, and his innate AC is 15. Dex mod being 2. Lvl 6.

If i equip chainmail his AC become 19. So i only get a +4.

What exactly is the rule that dictates "Once your natural AC is X high then it is essentially pointless to use heavy armor."?

Nothing I have found explains this very well, just stating that if I use light armor then I get to use my Dex or Int mod.

Can somebody clear this up for me please.

You want the simple questions, simple answers thread.

The issue in this case is that you don't get your dex mod to AC when in heavy armour.

that works thanks. Just seems silly that you can build a character that ends up with lower AC when he is using better armor. Yeah you have to build that way but there just seems no way to build a character to utilize heavy armor.

If the character in question has no DEX or INT and doesn't have a way to use any other stat in place of DEX or INT for their AC score, then they are utilizing heavy armor very well.  See Paladin.
