Hey guys!
Did the Claw Gloves from AV2 really not receive any errata?! I couldn't find any... But a lvl 4 hand slot item granting an untyped 1d10 bonus (this is nearly as good as the rogue's class feature sneak attack) is ridiculously good!
Did I miss any updates to this one?

It's beast form only, which mitigates it somewhat, but you're right, it does seem to be on the strong side. Are there other items that a predator druid would consider more highly? Especially since this is a level 4 set item?

Predators are in beast form most of the time anyway. Until now I haven't come across anything comparable (I only had a look at heroic tier stuff, mind you).
Oh well, looks like I'm building a predator druid! :D

It's an odd item - if almost anything else had a similar 'add 1d10 to most of my attacks' item at that level, it'd be clearly broken. In the case of the predator druid I wonder if it's effectively a system patch designed to let them act like strikers (their secondary) in a rogue-like fashion.
It feels like something that would have worked better as a feat or class feature, from my perspective.

I agree it's pretty outrageously overpowered. I play a 20th level predator Druid in a home campaign. Our DM doesn't let us use any items from AV2 (stupid power creep). I tried (and failed) to convince the DM to let me use a nerfed version of them. I was even willing to pay for them as if they were a 15th level item or something... Even if it was turned into an encounter power that's still comparable to a multiclass rogue feat. And, trust me, there's not really any other worthwhile hands slot items for Druids, so these 4th level items can easily be useful for a character's entire career.

Keithric is right, they should've tried to implement this into the predator's class feature. I haven't played it yet, but from what it looks like it seems to play very much like a striker with a few extras. But as this is not the case, this item just feels mandatory for every predator and can be very useful for other druid builds (guardian druid I'm looking at you) aswell...

It's a class feature in item form. Without that item, predator druids really lack the "strike" in "secondary striker". They have the mobility, but they are lacking some of the control in "Role: Controller" and pretty much all of the damage. This item fixes that.
Predator Druids with this item are not overpowered for either their primary or secondary roles, so this item is not overpowered.
That said, IMHO it's bad form for an "item-tax" to exist. I'd rather have seen it as a feat-tax.

One man's "item tax" is another man's "awesome loot, thanks DM!"
Feat taxes are bad because they take the place of things that are otherwise interesting choices with a boring mechanical fix. Supporting a secondary role with an item is not really a tax - it's a choice to increase the striker role over something else you could focus on as a druid, which given that it's a druid is a wide array of choices.

With the recent Dragon 410 article How at the Moon intruducing Beast Form ability through Themes available to anyone, Claw Gloves should be errata'd to only deal extra damage on melee attacks with the beast form keyword to limit its use with beast form melee attacks only while in beast form. Pg. 106 Claw Gloves's Property should deal extra damage only on melee attacks with the beast form keyword to limit its us with beast form melee attacks only while in beast form.
