Dragon 389 Origin Stories Strong Entrances, Strong CharactersBy Steve Townshend In today's Dragon article, Steve looks at Character backstory archetypes, which can be defining conflicts for your entire campaign arc, through heroic, paragon, and epic tiers, as well as giving examples of two particular archetypes, with scaling legendary boons to follow the examples. If you ever needed help making your bland character stronger in roleplaying rather than rollplaying, here's your chance to jump at ideas. Check out the Player's Strategy Guide for more guidance, as well. Talk about this article here.

I'm loving this article so far, and it's quite timely as we're just about to start a game. ^_^ As I noted in the errata forum, however, the Demonbound boon needs some tweaking for it to work as well as the designer wanted to. >.>

Just read this in the monthly compilation, and I love it. As a DM who often works with new players (because I move around a lot), this is just the kind of thing that can help new people get into the game. I'd love to see a sequel to this article exploring some of the other example archetypes he gave.
