Aasimar - Because I miss them dearly and Deva don't match.
Deva bloodline(from Dragon) pretty much covers the design space for the Aasimars.

Oh man, am I going to be flamed for this...
Given they have (half) orcs, tauren minotaurs, forsaken revenants, and draenai deva in 4e, I wonder if they'll add a half-troll or troll-oid race next.
Haha, you're funny... That was supposed to be a joke, right?
Wouldn't not overly shock me.
Also: Ettercaps. We need the goofy creature that wont die to become a playable race!

For me, I want the revival of the Lupin Race.
I'd say it should be like Genasi, with the "subraces"
All Lupin gain at least Lowlight Vision, and +2 to perception. Might get something else here. Stats, I dunno.
Then you pick the Subrace, examples..
Ye Great Dogge: +2 Endurance or athletics (dunno which), racial traits, and the power to bolster enemies.
Renados Folk: +2 Bluff, Racial Traits, and the power to taunt enemies.
I'd get along more with people if they didn't jump onto a hyberbole every single time you say something they don't understand.

I'd like to see some more Kobold support, seems everyone does these days, tricksy little trappers. (I can see a +2 Con, +2 Dex/Int in the mechanics too, which would make charoppers smile.) Asides from that, I'd love to let the creators go wild, see what new races come up. Might be that there's a concept that really catches light.

I said Thri-Kreen because, while I know they'll be in Dark Sun - I want them to come out of Dark Sun and into D&D proper.
Genasi and Warforged made an easier transition than I think the Thri-Kreen will - plus, the Minotaur was already re-written in two seperate places - and now we have them officially PHB material.
======
As for the Wilden - I've seen all the posted pictures I can find, and I do not feel they look plant-like (I've got other books to buy right now other than the PHB 3) - unless of course, "plant-like" is anything that has green on it. ((I might give you the one that looks like he's got a venus flytrap for a head))
The Shambling Mount - looks plant-like. The treant - looks plant like. ((though I wouldn't want either of them to give the Wilden it's appearance exactly))
And if none of that is good enough for you - because I don't like them, and someone was asking my opinion.

I want to see the kenku. Other than that, I don't really have any other preferences.

But this is 4e. Everything is "DnD Proper". For instance, you can play a Warforged Artificer in Living Forgotten Realms, even though both appear in the Eberron Player's Guide, because Everything Is Core.
As for races I'd like to see, I'm still holding out hope for Goblins, Hobgoblins, and Bugbears to get a full-write up. I can only make a strong case for hobgoblins though, as they're the most martial and likely to be civilized, I think. Would make a good case for an "honorable" tribe of PC-worthy hobgoblins.

First, my choices...
Dromite - This small race is one that should be in the PHB3, and I doubt that it will be passed up in the next book. With the Thri-Kreen being in the Darksun Setting, the Dromite is a race to take the Psionic spot for the couple of classes that most likely will be in the book.
Lupin - A poster mentioned this race, from the Dragon Compendium (3.5), and I much prefer this to the Knoll, or the Kobold.
Kenku - I think this would be nice. Not sure if they would be a small or medium race.
Tibbit - It might be nice to be able to turn into a house cat to sneak around or listen in on conversations. Perhaps we can have more than one small race to make up for the omission in the PHB3.
Now....
The thing we shouldn't have is a direct turn around of what has been avoided thus far, making monsters into character races. I should thing that Goblins (and their kin), Kobolds, Gnolls, Yanki, and other 'Monster' races will stay firmly within the MM and not be included in the PHB's. We already have the Half Orc and the Minotaur. I like the Minotaur, having read about Huma and such, and the Half Orc is watered down from the previous past.
Save the monster race write ups for Dragon, along side with the Assassin and Revenant.
The Small rules are a vast improvement from the previous edition's pitiful experiment. Now, weapons are exactly what they are, instead of having "small" weapons that do "small" damage. Instead, you use the same weapons that the others do, using both hands for the versitile and ignoring the two handed stuff. It simply is a different way to do the same thing. In this edition, the dagger is the smaller's short sword, the short sword his long sword, as far as damage is concerned. The bigger weapons have always been a problem, your small!
I see it as a logical step. Most of the time, the smaller races would use the weapons made by the other races, those weapons being more plentiful than the smaller makes. This is more so since the Halflings and Gnomes are not known for their smithing skills.
The Rapturian is bunk and shouldn't be in any 4th edition product at all.
Terms you should know... Spoiler:
Show
Kit Build - A class build that is self sustaining and has mechanical differences than the normal scale. Started in Essentials. Most are call their own terms, though the Base Class should be said in front of their own terms (Like Assassin/Executioner)
Power Points - A mechanic that was wedged into the PHB3 classes (with the exception of the Monk) from the previous editions. This time, they are used to augment At Wills to be Encounters, thus eliminating the need to choose powers past 4th level. Mage Builds - Kit builds that are schools of magic for the Wizard. A call back to the previous editions powering up of the wizard. (Wizard/Necromancer, for example) Unlike the previous kit builds, Wizards simply lose their Scribe Rituals feature and most likely still can choose powers from any build, unlike the Kit Builds.
Parcel System - A treasure distribution method that keeps adventurers poor while forcing/advising the DM to get wish lists from players. The version 2.0 rolls for treasure instead of making a list, and is incomplete because of the lack of clarity about magic item rarity.

They will Essentialize the Essentials classes, otherwise known as Essentials2.
The new sub-sub-classes will be:
* Magician. A subsubclass of Mage, the magician has two implements, wand and hat, one familiar (rabbit) and series of basic tricks. * Crook. A subsubclass of Thief, the Crook can only use a shiv, which allows him to use his only power... Shank. * Angry Vicar, a subsubclass of warpriest, the angry vicar has two attacks -- Shame and Lecture. * Hitter. A subsubclass of Slayer, the Hitter hits things. * Gatherer. A subsubclass of Hunter, it doesn't actually do anything, but pick up the stuff other players might leave behind.
Future Essentials2 classes include the Security Guard (Sentinel2), the Hexknife (Hexblade2), the Webelos (Scout2), the Gallant (Cavalier2) and the Goofus (Knight2).
These will all be detailed in the box set called Heroes of the Futile Marketing.
(Though what they should really release tomorrow is the Essentialized version of the Witchalok!)

I would prefer a remake of the Half-Daelkyr.
Despite of the fact that is an Eberron exclusive Race, it would perfectly match the 4e Style.
You have an evil Origin and struggle with your Madness but try to overcome all this habits and become a real Hero.
Perhaps the Half-Daelkyr will be as succesfull like the Warforged, which was also Eberron exclusive.

Maybe not Ettercaps, but Aranea would be cool.
I think the theme of the Shadow source being Dark Heroes, some monster races would be cool
