Explore Ikemmu: The Gloaming City

By Matt James

The city of Ikemmu sits on the very edge of the Ramparts of Night, a  bottomless chasm in the Underdark. And its sister city, also called  Ikemmu, sits in the Shadowdark. Portals link the two, allowing the  denizens of the city to cross easily between the planes -- and offering  limitless possibilities for commerce and adventure both worlds.

Wispy strands of gray matter float endlessly in the colorless expanse  that is the Shadowfell. In a city that is known for being a source of  exotic trade, Ikemmu is a hardy and militant enclave. Meanwhile, deeply  removed from the invigorating sun that exists on the surface, the  shadowy sister-haven of Ikemmu resides within the caliginous and ominous  caverns of the Underdark. It, too, serves as a massive hub of trade and  commerce for the two planes and is the source of Ikemmu's recent  emergence as one of the more powerful of the shadow enclaves. Mystical  spires tower over the city and offer insight into its ancient creators.  What dangers lurk just outside the vertical expanses of Ikemmu is  largely unknown, but one truth cannot be denied -- this shadar-kai city  serves as bastion of power in both the Underdark and the Shadowfell.

Talk about this article here.

I know.  I've pressed some buttons, but it won't be fixed until at least 10am tomorrow.

Hopeless.

How difficult is it to get the link right?

Do you have any sort of quality control?

I'm sure they do have QC but in this case the problem slipped through.

Im not going to let it bother me as it is going to get fixed. Im off to work anyway so when i get home it will be ready for me to download.

Yes but it slips though every week and, some weeks, every day.

It's such a small thing and so easy to get it right.

The link on the content calender is wrong, and the article is called Explore: Fairhaven as well.

No, the article is called Explore Ikemmu.  It's a mistake on the link page, calling it Explore Fairhaven.  Something happened earlier this month like this with a Dungeon article – the link page called it "Last Breath of Tiamat" but the actual article was called "Last Breath of the Dragon Queen."

And link failure doesn't happen every week, it's just poignant this week because it happened two days in a row.

Yes, on average it happens just over once a week and has for about a year now.

Nothing poignant about it: I want my Ikemmu article now, particularly as it was originally on the calendar to be published a couple of weeks ago.

I'm sure it will be up shortly. I assume through their 'community' software, they have articles auto-populate on certain dates. This can often break and usually requires a manual correction. It is 8am now on the West Coast and I am sure this problem will be solved shortly.

Imruphel, I hope you enjoy the article. It was great to work on a new location in the Realms with some old flavor. I am interested to see what the final cut looks like.
