If they are resorting to calling you a rules lawyer in the rules Q&A forum, you've obviously hit upon the correct rule as far as RAW goes.  It's an ad hominem attack designed to cover up the fact that there isn't a counter argument.

However, just because we've shown how RAW works, doesn't mean there isn't a valid argument as to the RAI for minions and temp hit points.  You obviously feel that you are also defending the spirit of the minion rules.  But many of the counter arguments were actually very good indications of probably RAI in my opinion.  It's worth acknowledging them from that point of view.

This is exactly what was wrong with the old forums.

The mindset that because this is Q&A forum it is ok to ignore the spirit of the rules is vastly mistaken, especially in a game with as much abstraction and improvisation as D&D, most of the threads on this forum are started by people asking a question that have come up or will come up in their games so to give the "RAW" answer while ignoring that the spirit of rules goes in the other direction is just plain rude and quite uncalled for.

Go to "What's a DM to Do?" if you want that. It is probably the best forum to discuss what people think a rules intention is. Here we have "no nonsense" discussions about what a rule means or where it can be found. RAI can not be proven unless we have every editor/writer/developer/etc who worked on each book come in here and say what they meant... thus we talk about what the wording of a rule means and not the phantasmic intent.

Again this is what i mean. I post some thing and look at the kind of response I get. When people mean no nonsense that has nothing to do with "RAW". Newer players come to this forum for clarity not some feud that involves non useful technical "rules lawyering" which from above is "A rules lawyer is a participant in a rules-based environment who  attempts to use the letter of the law without reference to  the spirit" This is not something to be embraced. This is a problem.

Please understand I am very fine with any and all throetecal rules conversations but in a Q&A fourm this is the place our peers come to for help and what this thread has become is not helpful.

I beg to differ. Due to the english language having various possible meanings for a variety of words, and the typical lack of a glossary for most game-terms in the phb/dmg, you basically end up interpreting the wording of rules in one or more ways. As a result of such guessing, such a notion essentially becomes a matter of trying to figure out the RAI since you can never be sure about what the specific meaning of a certain word a writer meant when he/she wrote said rule or word.
