This might be me being a bit stupid, but is there a way to add a power card to a character sheet for a power gained from an item like masters wand. I just can't find a way to do it.

Yes you can. Right click the item, then select customize. There will be a "item card" checkbox at the bottom. Just check that box and you are good to go.

This is what I thought I would need to do, but when I do that the only options I get are Hide and Duplicate.

I think he is actually wanting a separate card for the power itself. Sounds like he has the card for the item already, at least from what I'm reading that's what I gather.

Yes, one of my players has a masters wand of Thunderwave but short of creating a seperate char and cutting out the power card from that I can't find a way of getting it on the original printout.

Easiest way to add a thunderwave card? Add thunderwave as an "extra" power using the houserules function.
I'm pretty sure the master's wands are supposed to add the power card on though, try deleting the item, with the character sheet closed. Saving, then adding it back on.
