I figure this is a good place to ask: How do you select paragon or epic tier familiars in the character builder? If I take the arcane familiar feat in heroic tier then they don't show up in the companion list after I've leveled up. It looks like I have to retrain or swap somehow but I can't figure out how to do it. I can't swap the feat with itself in the character builder. That means I have retrain to some other feat and then retake the familiar feat. Is that really the intended method?
It is definitely clunky, but it does work at the levels where you gain a feat. Arcane Familiar is one of many feats that you ought to be able to retrain to themselves with different options selected.
