I love and hate this contest. It's fun, interesting, fascinating even. But the entry itself will be rather short, and I can only have one entry! Not fair! [whine] I want to make ten, no twenty entries![/whine]
Ok, got that out of my system. I'll think up a really good one.

You can always write up additional entries and submit them for comments after the contest closes.

Skillful. The Path improves the use of or grants training in one or more Skills. I'm slightly confused about 'improves the use' . would the followinging situations fall under that?
- you get +2 on perception
- you get +2 on perception when searching for trap
- you can now use perception instead of arcane to identify abarant creatures

For years, I've lived a double life. In the day, I do my job - I ride the bus, roll up my sleeves with the hoi-polloi. But at night, I live a life of exhilaration, of missed heartbeats and adrenalin. And, if the truth be known a life of dubious virtue. I won't deny it - I've been engaged in violence, even indulged in it. I've maimed and killed adversaries, and not merely in self-defence. I've exhibited disregard for life, limb and property, and savoured every moment. You may not think it, to look of me but I have commanded armies, and conquered worlds. And though in achieving these things I've set morality aside, I have no regrets. For though I've led a double life, at least I can say - I've lived.

"improve" uses the dictionary definition of the word. Whether and to what extent an entry improves a Skill will be up to individual judges. If you are concerned you might not fit the definition of "improve" you might want to try to meet a different criterion. You can also include an explanation in your entry of why you think your Paragon Path improves the use of a Skill.

For your non-judging entertainment, I give you... Dwarfhome DefenderRequirements: Dwarf, Warden, WarhammerYour ties to nature are great, but so are the ties you have for your fellow dwarves. Your heart calls you to defend that which you love most against the blight of those who hate your kind. Orcs and giants alike tremble at your stare. Those creatures which dwell in the cold dark of the subterranean realms skulk back into the shadows at your approach. Your very presence bolsters the morale of your comrades and inspires them to greater feats of valor. You and your warhammer personify the strength of the mountains, the power of the Earth and the will of the Dwarven nation. You are a symbol around which your people rally, and none shall invade your home while you still draw breath! Dwarfhome Defender Path Features:
- Stone Defender (11th Level) - While fighting in a natural stone environment, you gain +1 to Fort and resist 1 square of forced movement. This feature stacks with "Stand Your Ground."
- Hammer of Moradin (11th Level) - While wielding your warhammer two-handed, the weapon gains the "defensive" keyword, affording you a +1 to AC.
- Dwarf Foe Hammer (16th Level) - You gain +2 to attack and damage rolls versus orcs and giants.
Dwarfhome Defender Evocations:
Call to Stone
Warden Attack 11
Calling to the Earth Spirits, you slam your warhammer onto the ground, causing the earth beneath your foes to rise up and grasp their legs, holding them fast.
| Encounter ♦ Primal, Weapon |
| Standard Action - Melee Weapon |
| Target: All marked enemies
| Attack: Constitution vs. Fortitude
| Hit: Constitution modifier damage and the target is immobilized (save ends).
Bolster Allies
Warden Utility 16 |
You cry out to your allies, reminding them of how the dwarves threw off their chains of bondage and encourage them to honor their forefathers by fighting on!
Encounter ♦ Martial, Healing
| Standard Action - Close Burst 5 |
| Target: A number of allies not exceeding your Constitution modifier
| Effect: Your allies can spend a healing surge and gain +1 to their attack rolls until the end of their next turn.
Fear Me, Dwarf Foes!
Warden Attack 13 |
You bellow a challenging war cry which weakens the resolve of orcs and giants alike, forcing them to respect your power.
| Daily ♦ Primal, Zone |
| Minor Action - Close Burst 3, Sustain Minor
| Target: Any orc or giant within the zone
| Effect: Any orc or giant within the zone is marked by you until the end of your next turn. Sustain minor: The zone persists.
Form of the Forefathers
Warden Utility 16
You draw upon the power of your ancient bloodlines and become an icon of your peoples' inner strength. You inspire those around you and your enemies quake with despair.
| Daily ♦ Primal, Polymorph |
| Minor Action - Personal |
| Effect: You assume the guardian form of a giant dwarf lord until the end of the encounter. Your size increases to Large. You gain reach 2 and threatening reach. Because this is a spiritual form, you can move through size restricted areas as if you were your normal size (no squeeze penalties). Once during this encounter, you can make the following weapon attack while you are in this form: |
Call to Ancients
Warden Attack 16
You call out to your forefathers and their power drains the will of those who oppose you.
| Encounter ♦ Primal, Fear |
| Standard Action - Close Burst 2 |
| Target: All enemies in burst
| Attack: Constitution vs. Fortitude |
| Hit: The target is weakened (save ends) and is marked until the end of your next turn.
| Effect: All dwarves within the burst area gain +2 to their attacks until the end of their next turn.

Sustainable. One or more encounter powers granted by the Path is sustainable. doublechecking: 'encounter powers' ... sure that shoudn't say daily? IMO sustainable encounter powers seem very un-4th edition like...
(or maybe that was the intent, I don't know - hence doublechecking)

Check out the Goblin Hexer in the MM (pg 137). The Vexing Cloud power is an encounter power that sustains.
I don't know if there's any PC-powers that do this, but that's the first one that I could think of.
