Not a tactic or trick, but something that I haven't seen mentioned yet (or perhaps I just missed it) is that Painful Oath is once per turn, not once per round.
This makes off-turn attacks like Relentless Stride and Vengeful Parry even better than multiattacks from a DPR standpoint, since you can effectively double-dip your Painful Oath damage. It also bolsters your OAs, which is always a plus.

Wow, that's quite the find! I for one had not realised this.
Between relentless stride, strikebacks, battle awareness, backlash tattoo and polearm gamble I tend to get an extra attack almost every turn and now I learn those attacks get +Wis damage:

I hadn't caught that, either.
Gonna crack open a celebratory can of Dew now.

Hmm, so "once per turn" doesn't mean "once on your turn"?
If not, thats just way cool.

This what the compendium has to say about it:
In a round, every combatant takes a turn. A round represents about 6 seconds in the game world. I have posted something on the CharOp boards to see how best to optimize this...

Well, not sure if these is "damage combo only" post... but so far ive came up with this because im doing an Batman like avenger (lots of stealth included)
Standard: Overwhelming Strike (shift yourself, forgo the forced movement) Free: Pervasive gloom (you have now, superior cover just for not being adjacent to the target) Move: Move to make your stealth check and become hidden Minor: Activate Silver shadow so you can now move freely across the room without being seen if you have a decent stealth check Free: Whisper "Im batman" XD
Depending on the room, you can save your Silver shadow daily and instead move around cover/concealment areas, this way the combo can be done in any combat that provides such qualities poping out to enjoy your combat advantage nex turn... in my opinion Silver shadow should only be spent in the "Holy sh... what did i get into" scenario where you need to really, disappear :P
What does beauty and disintegrate rays have in common? they are both in the eye of the beholder!

Very nice! Strong contribution-- and I love the "I'm Batman" bit at the end

I personally like a build that starts with the Overwhelming Strike power, and the Aspect of Majesty power. take the Skill of Power feat, Spiked Chain Training feat, Avenging Resolution feat, Spiked Chain Expert feat, Sneaky Opportunity feat, Deft Blade feat. All you need is a Master's Blade and you get to have lots of fun.

Too bad the power from Spiked Chain Expert feat is a stance. Cannot have that one and Aspec of Majesty up at the same time.
Power of Skill + Overwhelming Strike + Polarm Gamble + Roundabout Charge(MC rogue) + Inexorable Pursuit + Boots of Adept Charging
Charge through your opponents(or/and your OoE) and stop to attack on any squares adjacent to your OoE regardless of reach. Unaffected by difficult terrain as well.
(move) position yourself if your target has physical obstacles on the way of a possible charge (minor) use your OoE if you don't have one yet (standard) charge your OoE (hit) shift 2 (1 from overwhelming and 1 from boots) & forgo the slide
If the enemy doesn't have reach to attack you from 3 squares away he needs to waste his move action on his turn to attack you.
If he doesn't have reach and moves in to attack you: (OA from polarm gamble)MBA with Overwhelming Strike, shift 1 and forgo the slide. Enemy cannot attack you if he doesn't have normal reach
If he doesn't, charge him on your turn with some nice Censure of Pursuit bonus damage.
Roundabout Charge(MC rogue) + Inexorable Pursuit allows you to benefit/set up flanking with your allies easily.
EDIT: Would you be able to use Rushing Cleats + Overwhelming Strike with a reach weapon to trigger Polarm Gamble? (U = you, E = Enemy, x = empty square) You start like this xUxE After hitting with OS you shift 1 UxxE You then slide the target 2 squares into the space you occupied UExx
When a nonadjacent enemy enters a square adjacent to you... Enemy was not adjacent and entered a square adjacent to me via sliding
After the first turn, enemy decides to attack something else because attacking you is worst than triggering Censure of Pursuit (because of Polarm Gamble). 2nd turn, you smack your OoE with 2x Overwhelming Strike
