Whip Build: Where to go from here?

Obviously, with a whip build, the guy focuses on tripping and disarming. I also tried to build him so that he would be useful even when fighting something that can't be tripped or disarmed.  I've played this build once, and he did fairly well; however the party he was with wasn't terribly well optimized, and his success may have been simply an example of mediocre being better than crappy.

I've attempted to search for whip builds, but the CO links don't have anything still accessible, and google search of the sight didn't turn anything up (my google-ful is weak).

What I have so Far:
Human Feat -> Combat Expertise
1: Swashbuckler 1 -> Exotic Weapon Proficiency (Whip); Weapon Finesse
2: Duskblade 1 -> Armored Mage
3: Duskblade 2 -> Improved Trip; Combat Casting
4: Swashbuckler 1-> Arcane Channeling
5: Swashbuckler 2-> Grace +1
6: Swashbuckler 3-> Improved Disarm; Insightful Strike
7: Open
8: Open
9: Open
10: Open

Unfortunately, ToB is out. Ability scores haven't been determined yet, but in general I'm planning on ordering them Dex -> Str -> Int -> Con -> Wis -> Cha.

I'm looking to start out at level 10, though the character will eventuall reach epic levels.

In general, I'm considering three general paths to take the character. The most obvious is to run Duskblade to 13 to grab arcane channeling on full attacks - however in my experience with this build so far he moves around to much to take advantage of full attacks; that might change at higher levels when he has more attacks to take advantage of.

I've also considered turning him into a two-weapon fighter build, with a whip in one hand and dagger-whip in the other. I can't help but think that would be two feat intensive without enough solid return to be worthwhile.

The route I'm most seriously considering is a caster path - something that would give me more and more-powerful touch spells to work with.  Ur-priest looks attractive, but I'll have to do some figuring to see how quickly he could get into it - perhaps if improved disarm was dropped he could take the first level of ur-priest by 10, though the skill requirements would remain tricky.

I would recommend you take Feat Rogue for your level 1, then exoticist fighter variant for level two. That gets you a Fighter feat, rogue skills points for starters, trapfinding, and then 3 exotic weapon proficiencies as well as an exoticist fighter special ability that gives you +2 to trip and disarm with exotic weapons.

Also, get Jotunbrud.

All of these are available for reference on www.crystalkeep.com

You might want to try a whip dagger (Sword and Fist) or Kusari Gama (DMG p145) instead of a normal whip.

How about Curling Wave Strike feat from Stormwreck?  Lets you use your bonus attack with Improved Trip to instead trip another foe within reach.

I've been trying to optimize a Whip-dagger build:

Human Fighter 4/Swashbukler 1/Dervish 10/Tempest 5

1: Fighter (Exotic Weapon Proficiency (Whip) , Weapon Focus (whip), Combat Expertise)
2: Fighter (Dodge)
3: Fighter (Mobility)
4: Fighter (Weapon Specialization (Whip)
5: Swashbukler
6: Dervish (TWF)
7: Dervish
8: Dervish
9: Dervish (Improved TWF)
10: Dervish
11: Dervish
12: Dervish (Oversized TWF)
13: Dervish
14: Dervish
15: Dervish (Greater TWF)
16: Tempest
17: Tempest
18: Tempest (Extra feat)
19: Tempest
20: Tempest

Most of the time you want to get Improved Trip for this build, and you can take it quite early, I just wanted to max the TWF tree. If my calculations are correct, yo can make 13 attacks with Thousand Cuts... I think thats correct.
I dont know if I can get a better build for this one.
