Twist was too distracted by the blood and violent execution of the World Eaters to really focus on the vision... besides, it wasn't like they had souls, they were living representatives of a physical and non-sentient manifestation. Them having an afterlife would rather like a projected image having one.

"What in Brinn is wrong with you?!" Twist asked aloud at the troll. "Do you typically blow people up when they come into a room?!"

Prayog spun around to face Twist. "Silence, fool, or I'll do the same to you." Said the exarch, "do you know what those things did to my people? They attacked my planet and killed hundreds of us, including my family. They exterminated the animals we hunted. We trolls have not eaten for years. We are kept alive by the will of our god!

Ymalos walked through the tunnels that his trolls had dug and touched the walls, turning them into metal. Tommorow the Morsinfra would discover it and figure out how to use it and then they would make weapon and armor from it and then they would fight and there would be slaughter. Ymalos walked out of the tunnel and into the night air. He sent a dream to a random Morsinfra troll telling him where to find the metal and how to use it. Then the slaughterer clapped his hands and dissapeared in a burst of red light.

"Sounds like a night on the town to me," an Ithillid mumbled to no-one in particular.

Twist however, looked at the goop that had formerly been the World Eaters, then back to the trolls. "Those two in particular?" he asked. "Or are you just a racist ba-"
"Twist!" Stagnate interrupted. "Perhaps a little more diplomacy is in order?"
"Right right, of course," Twist replied. "Though I wouldn't be complaining if I didn't have to eat... oh wait, I don't. But the point stands."

"Why, these are the feet of the junk falls!" Vagrant replied, as if that explained everything. "Some time ago, a couple of odd fella's came through these 'ere parts, and made a magical waterfall that draws trash throughout the universe! Now me and Reginald here can search for good trash all day long, and have a good chance of finding it! Isn't that right Reginald?"

There was a silence.

"Reginald says yes."

The goblins were troubled. They had fine silks. They had gold and gems by the wagon load. And they had extensive lands with a myriad of servants. So, like all people that obtain such wealth, they became extremely paranoid that someone would try and take it away. The bugbears, though strong in their own right, were hardly WARRIORS of any caliber. And the goblins own arcane might would fall under a more mundane threat.

So, eventually, the goblins had an idea... they'd created servants, why not soldiers? However, rather than make them by combining animals with goblin quintessence, the goblins decided it might be better to find a better source... and there HAD been rumors of odd, twisted looking humanoids on the outskirts of their land...

By combining the foulspawn with their own essence in dark rituals, the goblins created a new off shoot of their lineage, hardy warriors that had a natural ability to intimidate the foe into quivering fear. Afraid these new members of the Empire might attempt to overthrow them, the goblins attempted to imbue them with a sense of duty and servitude since the moment they were born, even going so far as to name them 'hobgoblins', literally translated to 'the chosen of the goblins'. The strict training regime seemed to work... despite being physically and diplomatically powerful, the hobgoblins considered it their sworn duty to obey their smaller, squeaker rulers. As a side note, due to their natural charisma goblins used the hobgoblins as more than just soldiers... many a goblin took a hobgoblin attendant to balls and the like, whispering in their ear so they might speak their thoughts in a firm, proud voice rather than the goblins own scratchy, comical one.

A hobgoblins interpretation of Dharrox's Grace, as it had become known, was naturally different to both the bugbear and goblin interpretation. While goblins interpreted it to mean to be elegant, and wear fine clothes, and bugbears defined it as being a state of mind, hobgoblins viewed it as to simply strive to be the absolute best at anything and everything. If you were the fastest, that was elegant. If you were the best swordsman, that was elegant. If you were the best diplomat, that was elegant. To fail though, was inelegant in the extreme, those that failed consistently and were not the best at anything at all were considered to be lower than dirty, and to be looked down upon or pitied depending on the individual doing the looking/pitying. This made hobgoblins even MORE likely to serve the goblins, and to vie for their favor... being the best servant was another thing to strive for, after all.

With their new three pronged society, and the hobgoblins constant military drills to further their strength, the Goblinoid Empire simply flourished, and had a period of unparalleled good fortune and growth.

The Fane of Fury rose from his seat in the cave, looking out over the continent he had reset upon. Sighing, he lifted the hammer from his side and threw it into the air, watching it vanish. "Sorrow must have gotten what she wanted."

-----

The Despot of Desire settled down to watch the strange creatures work before looking skyward. Sorrow must have gotten what she wanted from Brinn and Grawlf. For a second, he grimaced in pain as something inside of him began to burn, bursting forth and flying off. Clutching the gaping hole in his chest, he went slack, too exhausted to do anything beyond continuing to watch these strange creatures called goblins.

-----

The Tyrant of Terror stopped in mid movement, far away from any world as he glanced around. "Damn you, Sorrow. Suppose I'll need to keep a lower profile for a while."

-----

The Arbiter of Apathy stood silently in the shadows, watching Sorrow intently. "She really intends to do it. Suppose it's her business if she wants to give it up though."

Ignoring Apathy's whispers, the Sovereign of Sorrow watched quietly as Brinn finally drifted off, the goddesses mind dispersing into the area as she watched. When Brinn had finally fallen deep enough into her slumber, Sorrow nodded. "She'll be fine." Without hesitating, she plunged her arm into the goddesses chest, pulling out a pulsing orb of energy, holding it aloft.

Drawing the energy into herself, she cast off the diving spark she had called to herself, feeling the armored skin she had once used to defend herself pull free to float over the center of the chamber. Grimacing in the pain the separation had caused, she watched as various objects pulled their way into the chaos. The Kavaca, Lohaks armor. The Primordial Eye. The Heart of Chaos. Valimandar. They hovered in place as the long sleeping presences began to stir in the depths of the plane.

Feeling the awakening mind bearing down upon her, threatening to tear her apart from it's intensity and fury. Reaching out and grasping a single item that did not belong, a book she only vaguely remembered, she vanished from the Heart of Chaos, fleeing before the mind shattering force that she had awakened.

Reappearing on the world of Lorquan, she finally felt releaved as she looked at the object she had grabbed. The Book fo Renewal. Forgotten for so long. Nodding, she slipped up to a sleeping leviathan, finally delivering the package so long delayed, placing the knowledge necessary to use it within the slumbering creatures mind.

Exhausted, Sorrow crumpled to dust, blowing wildly across the worlds. Where the particles landed, a new creature arose, creatures reminiscent of Sorrow herself, feeding on grief and despair. As others began to encounter them, these new creatures would be known as Sorrowsworn.

-----

As Apathy watched, ignoring the pain running through his mind as he ignored most things, an echoing how burst from the hovering armor, long, piercing, otherworldly. The sound avalanched through the air. Throughout the Heart of Chaos and beyond, stone shook, water danced, and flames swirled about. Slowly but surely, the very air danced and began to move.

The howl sounded off again, and the titans across the chaos cowered with fear that their world was ending.

But the third sound was worse as the magic invoked tore through the fabric of the air, and elements nearby began to lift from their places as if it were pulling them upwards and towards the heart. The air turned about the assembled artifacts, great clouds of dust, flame, and vapor rising into the air at it's passing.

Darkness began to gather, the magic invoked taking the very light away, pulling the darkness as it was pulling the wind. Light and dark swirled around the Heart of Chaos as the energies gathered.

Slowly but surely, light was sucked from the chaos, leaving only darkness to fall about a place where darkness had rarely been known. Lightning tore violently across the sky, flashing rapidly in every direction, forking, doubling, over and over until the sky burned. Thunder rolled through out the plane, coalescing into a continuous fury, mixing with the howl, becoming a part of it.

The ground shook as the screaming thunder went beyond sound, to something else entirely. All across the Elemental Chaos, the stone and rock cracked open in jagged ferocious tears and shafts of violet light shot burst into existence all around and the bluish purple curtains of light vibrated, danced, and with gathering speed were sucked into the vortex, sucked nto the Heart of Chaos. The tomb was a glowing form in a sea of darkness, It was the only thing in existence; all else was nothingness, devoid even of light. There was a horrific impact to the air all about as the slumbering god finally awoke. Pure destruction exploded outwards in a murderous blast. The very air screamed as it burned, and the area ignited in a blinding flash of twin magics, opposites twisted in a deafening discharge of wrath, as the fabric of reality seemed to rip. For those unprepared for it, even the gods, it seemed as if reality itself were torn and collapsing under the pressure of creation and the void.

As the vanished light and air exploded outwards. In a brief, tremendous flash of light, the Elemental Chaos was twisted and shattered, reshaping under the force of the power unleashed. A wall of dust, water, fire, and sand followed behind, feeling as if it would strip the very flesh from the bones of those titans it collided with in it's explosive passing. The ferocity of the concussion tore the darkness away, and the light was returned.

The world stood frozen, watching, as the five elements reunited within the hovering armor, floating silently in the air, pale blue light coalescing into a jagged egg shape around it, gathered in intensity, purpose, and somehow, violence. The light suddenly bled away into the surrounding area, then faded. Reaching out and grasping the hammer solidly in two hands and grasping the primordial eye in another, the four armed looked around quietly, a confused expression on it's face.

~IoW, Dominion Lands~
Karhedron bowed low before the lady, his shards ringing against one another much like an oversized wind chime in a strong breeze.  It never hurt to be courteous.

"My lady, thank you for welcoming us into your lands.  When we landed our city after fleeing from the destruction on Yrie, we never would have guessed to find such a warm reception.  My purpose for visiting your lands are two- no, three fold.  First of all, we Casakans hope to meet our new neighbors and ensure them of our intentions to live in peace and harmony with all those on these isles.  Secondly, I seek any news of a ship which may have passed by here perhaps a decade ago, a great ark of glass carrying my son and the first wave of refugees from our homeworld.  And finally..."  Karhedron smiled,  "I have come to marvel at your fair city.  We have always been facinated with construction.  Perhaps we could share our methods with one another?"

~IoW, Eye-Kin mountain and environs~
Hidden by the curtain of water, the caves within Eye-Kin mountain were beginning to seem quite full.  Repeated raids, as well as the complacency of the Quori overlords had allowed the number of rescued beholders to grow immensely, and although still roughly 3/4 of those rescued died from dream-withdrawal, the resolve of the Eye-Kin grew greater by the day.  In fact, if the Quori had deigned to notice their efforts, they would have seen that in the regions surrounding the Mountain, productivity had dropped dramatically, and there had been several mysterious disappearances of Quori citizens

~Lor'quhan, Ocean~
The Manyu looked sad for a moment, then asked
"Maybe we can help?  We have great powers of healing."

~Lor'quhan, Junk Falls~
He's still talking to that rock.
Yes, Yes he is.  Just be glad thats all he's doing.  This entire race seems to be slightly... off.
One chuckled and returned to the conversation.
"Thank you Vagrant... Reginald.  So, junk from anywhere in the universe comes here?  But we Manyu have a saying... 'One Stack's useless bimodal redundant sensory ring, another stack's unimodal sensory survival core!'  Do you agree?"

~The Grotto~
The continued presence of the Devas, as well as Grawlf's gaze, was leading to the slow introduction of his worship into the members of The Grotto, as well as a few souls joining with the Devas in proclaiming the looming apocalypse
~Vok~
Webweaver smiled.  He knew that the world eaters wouldn't care about this next part, and the conversation appeared to have lulled.
"Very well, now that I have gained your word, I ask you: who is first put to the sword?  Is there some target, be it great or small, which can be said to be target by all?"

~Kahnda~
The Great Library had laid at peace for several years while the machine waited for its master, who was not even aware of its existence, yet.

What was aware of its existence was a colony of ants, which happily set up shop within the cool walls.  The ants explored every nook and cranny of the library, which was still mostly empty as most of the great tales had yet to be written.  All was well until some of the ants found an old book and crawled within it.  A few moments later, the book shook with an inner power (for it was in fact the Codex of Intelligent Thought, which returned here to its 'home' when it was not being used by the gods) and with a flare of white light, all the ants in the room, a good hundred in number, were suddenly turned into a writhing pile of halflings, stacked high from floor to ceiling.  When the gnomes finally unentangled themselves, they began to explore the library from a new perspective.

1 PP:  Guide Populace:  The Grotto begins to worship Grawlf
1 PP +1 (Codex):  Shape Populace (lesser):  halflings form from ants which have infiltrated the Great Library
1 PP:  Nourish Populace:  The Eye-kin resistance grows in power
1 PP:  Denourish Populace: The Quori are having a little bit of trouble keeping ahold of their slaves.

The Quori quickly became aware of all the activity that surrounded a certain mountain in their domain. Their spirits were intimately linked, so that they could feel the sudden disapearance of the lives of them from the tapestry that was the Dream. So to the conclusion they came that their slaves, kept to them for generations, were revolting. The Dream Lord ordered swift, disicive action, and it was carried out.

First, all Dreamtouch Beholders heard a call in their minds, and traveled to the center of the Quori realm. The few under care of the Eye-Kin tried to follow the call had to be killed, for they would not stop trying to leave. Soon, they had all arived at the center. There they stayed, for while the Quori would not care much if the slaves revolted, they did wish to keep some, to study for further interests in the future, like the occasional Azshari and the small population of Jeraca.

Secondly, all the Mindtouch Crystals grew bigger, as power flowed into them. This was not expected, but examination of them showed that they had been linked to the Psionic Eye, letting them channel its power. It was presumed that the Dream Lord had done this in secret.

Finally, all of the inhabitants of the Mountain suddenly fell unconsious. They woke up in a few minutes, and there seemed to be no change, nothing had happened. But deep within their minds, profound changes had taken place. Firstly, they found themselves unable to dream. Initially rejoicing, the discovery was later deepened by a horrible truth. With the loss of these dreams, they could not imagine things as much, did not have the creativity as before. This loss hampered their efforts to revolt. Also disturbing was the giant Mindtouch Crystal, fully a hundred times the size of a normal one, floating over the Mountain.....

In the backdrop of these events, more numbers of the lesser quori were being spawned. Their higher numbers improved the Quori strength and dominance.

1 PP: Guide Populace(Lesser): Dreamtouch Beholders travel to the center of Quori power, there "protected" from the "dangerous insurgents."

1 PP: Denourish Populace(Quori Dream Lord): The Eye-kin lose much of their ability to imagine things.
2 PP: Create Artifact(Intermediate): A giant Mindtouch Crystal appears floating over the mountain. Basically, it's a very powerful Mindtouch Crystal, almost like a satilite.
2 PP: Nourish Populace: The Quori grow in strength due to the increased numbers of the lesser Quori.

"Hold it, I didn't offer my word to anything!" Twist snarled at the Vok'dra. "And if everyone here considers the other races cattle or blows up diplomats because they had a tiff with their entire race some time ago this entire meeting can kiss my-"
"Diplomacy, Twist," Stagnate reminded him.
The fox growled for a few moment, before huffing reluctantly. "Don't suppose anyone on this council is fair game are they?" he mumbled, not really expecting himself to be heard.

"Any xenos is as good as any," the Ithillid delegate vomited. "Preferably as many kinds as possible... too long has our supply of knowledge stagnated."

"I don't be reckonin' I know what you just said," the blattaria replied, scratching his head. "But trash is mighty useful for a whole bunch o' things... if only for keeping back the crazies," he added, gesturing to a makeshift fort he'd erected from old buckets and bricks. "Me an' Reginald don't like gatherin' trash with others around... never know what might set 'em off. Though some are harmless," he admitted. "Like Squirrelchaser."
"Squirrel?!" a voice called eagerly from somewhere close by.
"False alarm Squirrelchaser," Vagrant shouted back. "Right Reginald?"
There was a silence.
"Reginald says yes!" he shouted in the general direction of Squirrelchaser.

Khandra

It was a typical day at the iron mines of Gregok. The bugbears happily toiled away, chipping the iron out of the deep shaft and hauling it back up to the surface even as they pondered just why they were given the ability to do so, or the ability to wonder why they were given the ability to do so. The hobgoblins lazed around in full armor and fully armed, waiting for an enemy that wouldn't come... there were hardly any other races on this rock after all. A few shouted encouragements to the bugbears, wanting them to finish mining for the day so they could head back to camp and unwind. And of course the goblin in charge squeakily yelled at everyone who didn't do their job well enough, and loudly complained that the rock chips were dirtying up his glorious silk clothes.

Today, however, was a little different. Normally, the odd scouting party the hobgoblins sent out didn't encounter anyone or anything. Today, however, a small band of the soldiers encountered an odd looking entity doubled over in exhaustion. Being wary of this odd... thing, the hobgoblin sergeant walked up to it cautiously, poking it with the blunt end of it's spear.
"Oi, you alright?" it asked.

Desire looked at the odd creatures with a blank expression, his hand alling from the gaping wound in his chest. "No, I'm not alright. My heart is gone."

"O ye great spirits dark and all of blight, your true reward comes at end of twilight.  For when the prey has gone the River's way, Spirits, that will be when you have your say."

Webweaver grimaced, then explained.
"We care only for the bodies, the mindflayers care only for the minds, the trolls care only for the slaughter and the death dragons only for the souls.  You, spirits, can have the land that remains to mold as you see fit, which, as I understand it, is what you spirits desire to do regardless."
