I'm STILL confused.

Is it :

FREE ACTION : Prior to an attack, you may invoke your shrouds on the target.
ATTACK HITS : Inflict an additional 1d6 damage per shroud on the target.
ATTACK MISSES : Remove one shroud.  Inflict an additional 1d6 damage per shroud remaining on the target.
EFFECT : All remaining shrouds are removed from the target.

or is it :

FREE ACTION : Prior to an attack, you may invoke your shrouds on the target.
ATTACK HITS : Inflict an additional 1d6 damage per shroud on the target and all shrouds are removed from the target.
ATTACK MISSES : Remove one shroud from the target.

The First one.

don't know if someone quoted this already, but in character builder it says:

"This damage roll never benefits from bonuses to damage rolls, and IS IN ADDITION TO THE ATTACKS DAMAGE, if any."

They should really consider putting this information into more than one run on sentence:

"If you invoke your shrouds, the attack deals 1d6 damage per shroud, minus one shroud if the attack misses, and all of your shrouds then vanish from the target."

I think what they intend to say is if you choose to invoke your shrouds then you risk losing one of the shrouds if you miss, but if you hit, all of the shrouds are used up and dissapear. Is this the general consensus?

No.  On a hit you get all your shroud's damage, and they vanish.  On a miss, you get all your shrouds minus one's damage, and they vanish.  For example, if you have all 4 shrouds on a goblin, a hit will do [attack damage]+4d6.  A miss will do 3d6.

oh kool, i guess that explains how they balance the rogue 2d6 per round sneak attack (or for just about everyone 2d8 rogue sneak attack with the feat).

i still like the brutal shroud feat for the assasin making all of his shrouds brutal 1.

Brutal is actually less effective at increasing average damage than backstabber or their equivalents. 1d6 = 3.5 average. 1d6 brutal 1 = 4 average damage. 1d8 = 4.5 average damage.

Half a point!

If you look past the plot and the voice acting, Metroid: Other M was an okay game. Not a great game, but an adequate one.

Not using the Metroid item collect jingle though? That, was a mistake.

yea rogues are still a class that can be more optimized in my opinion, but they've also been around a lot longer, and got some help with the addition of martial power. buts its also fun to try new classes, especially if your a DM.
