It's like the ludicrous examples of colors and shell pieces.
Just because you can't respond to it doesn't make it a ludicrous example by any means, but you know what? I'm done talking to you about this, because you clearly don't know what you're talking about. You talk about how the game can't be decontextualised, but then when someone adds context, you bait and flame them. You try to say that mechanics and flavour of a game are the same, and they aren't. No matter how fastidious you are about language use, refluffing something will never be a house rule, pure and simple. When you change a mechanical facet of the game, you create a house rule. When you change how something looks, you refluff. And I'm done with you.
If anything I say is wrong, clueless or spelt incorrectly, it is because, I am, in general, wrong, clueless and... Well, I'm usually spelt correctly.

I did respond to it, or should I assume you are NOT familiar with the terms definition and defining trait? edited to add: good bye. (saves me the trouble of ripping apart the last bit of falsehoods). You ask me to provide all the arguments over, I did, you kept making the same mistakes, and claim I didn't answer them? You aren't done - you never truly started, in my opinion.
Through the ages, many would wonder "Does art imitate life or does life imitate art?" I wonder "Does the art of discourse on the internet imitate the art of discourse in life or does the art of discourse in life imitate the art of discourse on the internet?"

You never proved your arguments. You kept saying proof existed, but you never showed me any proof, even after I asked you for links to the posts in question. Your little rant on decontectulisation was cute, but did little to prove that flavour is the same thing as mechanics. Oh and by "that last bit", I assume you mean the line: "When you change a mechanical facet of the game, you create a house rule. When you change how something looks, you refluff." Go ahead. Rip it apart. I doubt you can actually prove that flavour and mechanics are the same thing.

Go take a look at the reflavoring thread, Sam. There's a tidbit in there from the DMG2 that pretty much ends this.

I feel I should mention a post I made in this thread's seeming sister thread that pretty much says what we all would figure "the rules are. The group chooses reflavour; the DM can, with the default or reflavoured stuff doesn't jive with the DM's world, vetoe it. Printed in the Dungeon Master's Guide 2. Edit: I was Ninja'd by Max. Or since there's the "Assassin", not the "Ninja", I guess I might have been Assassin'd.

You ripped a gateway to Hell, killed half the town, and raised the dead as feral zombies. We're going to kill you. But it can go two ways. We want you to run as fast as you possibly can toward the south of the town to draw the Zombies to you, and right before they catch you, I'll put an arrow through your head to end it instantly. If you don't agree to do this, we'll tie you this building and let the Zombies rip you apart slowly. You have to do the work first, and show you can do the work, before someone is going to pay you for it.
If you can't understand how someone yelling at another person would make them fight harder and longer, then you need to look at the forums a bit closer.

That's alright Kalnaur - I don't think many would take issue with an assassin being reflavoured as a ninja :D

Yeah, that post pretty much clears it up.

Heh. I've never given a cookie, and I can't now on these new forums, but if ever there was someone deserving of one, it would be the guy who won 2 theads with one post.

hmmm... normally, I'd say it's the OP's call, but we are a bit off the track from where we started, so hard to tell who'd have to decide. You get my vote, though
