The outside board known as /tg/ (if you don't know what that is, don't ask) has been working on some power cards for D&D 4e. Since a good deal of the 4e supporters and optimizers on that board are interested in Touhou, these power cards have been modeled after the Touhou TCG, Rumbling Spell Orchestra: http://1d4chan.org/wiki/Touhou_Power_CardsAs such, the cards emphasize preserving the aesthetics of the Rumbling Spell Orchestra cards over ease-of-use. Still, it's a cute little project for anyone interested in both Touhou and D&D 4e. The project turns cards like these (they're thumbnails, click on them for the full pic): Into cards like these (also thumbnails, click on them for the full pics): These are the photshop templates used for making the cards: www.mediafire.com/?zexnj1xymjx

DND for me and my group usually inevitably features a lot of anime styling in the companion art for campaigns and in the way things are run, anyway, so this seems like a really cool idea for that reason alone---however, more broadly, this is a wonderful idea in general, as having index cards with powers on them for quick reference, coupled with making them aesthetically pleasing, would totally make games be more fun, spark the imagination, and run more smoothly/quickly as well.
I've never heard of Touhou before now, but after seeing this... I'm interested.

You really should check out Touhou. There's loads of cool characters, and a gigantic fanbase. And the games are hellishly fun (and difficult).

Ah, another Touhou affectionado. :D I've never heard of Touhou before now, but after seeing this... I'm interested. The eleven or so base games of Touhou are pretty famous "Bullet Hell" or "Curtain Fire" type shoot-em-ups. They star a Flying shrine maiden called Reimu and a Witch called Marisa. (and later, a flying maid called Sakuya, among others). Amazingly, each of the games is entirely created by one person, a Japanese guy who goes by the name ZUN.
----------------------
My recent master knife thrower character was called Sakuya. :D Naturally, the plan is for her to pick up Time Stop in later levels to match her game version, even if its impractical.
I love the universe, but am ashamed to say I suck at the games. Even though I used to be a dab hand at Tyrian 2000 and Raptor and other western shooters, they don't even approach Touhou's difficulty factor. I only just managed to clear Normal Mode of Embodiment of Scarlet Devil the other day for the first time (and even then, with no lives remaining and only about half of the spellcard bonuses) Now, Touhoumon, on the other hand, I can do. :D
Also Doom of Delbaan == Marisa's Master Spark. YEP! Though Tenshi as a Swordmage makes me shudder. Also, Alice is the ideal Warlord with her Doll armies, right?
EDIT: Hmm, just checked out the page too. Good stuff! (and yup, Sakuya stars in most of the Rogue cards, as anticipated...LOL...)

That's friggin' amazing! What system are the games for? Or are they PC?

By himself, eh? That's friggin' amazing! What system are the games for? Or are they PC? Yeah, darn right. He does the engine, programming, polygons, sprites, and music all himself. And yet still manages to release a new game once a year. ZUN is...impressive, to say the least.
To answer your other question, the first five were for an obscure japanese only system, the EPC98.
Six and onwards, starting with 'Embodiment of Scarlet Devil', are indeed for Windows on PC.
You check out the wiki, at http://touhou.wikia.com/wiki/Touhou_Wiki if you like.

The only game I've owned that seems similar was bangai-O!---but that was one of the most fun games I've ever played! The story was truly surreal and...nonsensical... but charming nonetheless. The difficulty made it truly rewarding, too, since it was hard but somehow extremely fun nonetheless.

Sounds fun. Where do you buy them? Internet? Also, do they have heavy system requirements? Yup, you'll have to look for them on the net, since they're Japanese, (unless you have some mate in Japan who can pick them up locally, of course) and then download the fan translations (of which there are links to on that wiki).
Nah, the system requirements aren't big, since they're not exactly graphical glory or anything. I play them on my old laptop (an Athlon 2600+ with 64mb graphics) and they speed by at 60 fps easily.
You do need a controller though. Well, you don't, but I'd dread controlling a standard shoot 'em up through the keyboard...
EDIT: To Adslahnit: You might want to put the link to the fonts files on this page too. Also, I have Photoshop, but you might want to put up GIMP version for the less fortunate.
I'll likely use these to go with my Sakuya. :D

Evidently I was more bored than I realised. I went and crafted a completely new template of my own for these, vaguely based upon yours. Its pretty trendy. Check 'em out: Mmm...cloud of daggers... --------------------- My personal favourite, just because we all find it hilarious to see chinagirl impaled. --------------------- Sakuya's World is a pretty scary one... --------------------- And it all began here. Based originally on yours. --------------------- Can you tell I'm a rabid Sakuya fanboy? LOL.:D
