A LOT of similarities, but this has a more reserved flavor. I think of the dreadnaught as a sort of pulp samurai skirmisher (very like the 3.5 class, skirmisher).

I think the barbarian is more extreme, in every instance and will be hard for some rp. I would be more inclined to use the dreadnaught, but that's just personal preference.
