Once the Azorans chose their diplomats, they were lead to the city of Meribia by an honor guard. As they approached the city, they saw the floating islands that floated above the city, connected to various points of the mountain by carefull constructeds bridges. From the very base to Duskpeak, the mountain was covered in terraces, balconies, buildings, and tunnels. This was the pride of Meribia, an entire mountain carefully carved and modified to function as a city.

Through the winding maze like tunnels, they were lead to the top, where the Palace of the Magnates awaited. Once within the grand hall, the magnates, one dwarf and one halfling, stood. "Greetings Azorans, and welcome to Meribia. Why have your people come to your shores?"

The knight frowned and said, "No need to shout, gnome. This won't be hard at all. To arms, men!"

The knight drew his sword in one fluid motion, and the peasant men-at-arms currently on duty lowered their poleaxes and prepared to fight.

----

The knight shrugged and said, "Go ahead, I accept dragon."

----

The Azoran knight said, "We have come to your shores merely to pass through, and maybe to work out some sort of trade agreement."

The dwarf looked at his partner. "What do you think, Darin?"

He shrugged. "I see no reason to delay them. They clearly didn't come with the intent to invade. Would you agree, Myria?"

She nodded. "I do agree."

Darin looked out to the azoran. "We'll send word immediately. Azoran ships are welcome in Meribia's harbors. And you and your men may pass through our lands. Perhaps your leaders would consider coming to a meeting we are organizing."

Myria smiled, and nodded, "Yes, that would be excellent. We were just preparing to make our way there ourselves. It's taking place in a small outpost built during the war."

The Liberty a large dragon ship, named in honor of the first Free Nation ship that allowed tehir ambassador to have the first contact with the Humites, sailed toward New Terena, carrying a Free Nation delegation to the city.

The coucil finally decided for Yorik to lead the expedition again, thank to his greater knowledge of the humites and since he already fought with the Terenans during the demonic invasion of the feywild.

In order to avoid unnecessary aggressive reaction the flying ship landed away from the city and the small delegation, composed by the Ambassador and a few trusted priests moved toward the city by themselves...

Meanwhile another expedition was formed to reach Meribia, composed of tree trading vessels, lead by the Seeker, one of the greatest ships of Vassen, the fleet carried Trade Prince Marhil, the human leader of a powerful trading guild and the chosen ambassador, his half humite oracle Darven and a decent escort from the Bloodguard.

The fleet moved near to a Meribian port, using a non aggressive formation and waited to be intercepted by the dwarven marine...

"The knight shrugged and said, "Go ahead, I accept dragon."

"Very well"
The beast cut again his left arm using his claws and let a large drop of his blood fall on the knight head, at first the blood burned trough the helm and then became like a cold acid in contact with the knight skin, while the dragon chanted his spell.

The knight fainted from the pain, when he woke up he felt extremely tired, but at the same time he was refreshed, made somehow stronger by the blood of the beast. There was just a small evident change to tell that the dragon has done something, his eyes were now of a dark blue, that looked like Tovash ones.

The beast wondered why this did not happened to Eonam, however he was happy with the resoults.

"Now you have a small portion of my strenght, in the hands of a skilled warrior it should be enough to defeat any opponent. I'll be back in one month, after the tournament to collect my prize and grant you the reward that you deserve"

Then he opened his large wings and begun to fly away...

The bandits saw that they were outmatched, and quickly turned around, running now away from Harp, which made the gnome quite happy.

"Thank you!" he gasped, still trying to catch his breath. When he had done so, he continued.

"Thank you. If you had not been here, I don't know what I would have done. But, on that note, why *are* you here and not inside Terena proper?"

Harp pointed towards the city now visible in the distance.

The knight said, "Because we have not yet been invited in... I'd rather not enter without permission first."

The gnome laughed.

"Well, I have some friends who would be happy to thank you for saving my life."

Harp puffed up his chest and said in the most imperious voice he could manage, which, given his size and occupation was more comical than anything else.

"On Behalf Of The People Of Terena, I, Harp of the Gnomes, Welcome You In."

Silvertoungue blinked at the councilwoman, then chuckled.

"Absolute Proof? We have no real evidence that it is even a gnome that is doing the deed, for one, and how would we go about proving such a claim? Unless we put every gnome footpad to questioning under some sort of truth spell, we could never provide that level of confidence to you."

Silvertoungue wondered for a moment whether or not this was some ploy to discover the inner workings of the Circle. He was sure that the Sneaks would not approve of that!

"I would have hoped that my very presence, as opposed to our actions in the past, where we studiously avoided you, would have been proof enough that we were coming here in good faith. And believe me, we have every intention of finding whoever is selling this abomination. As you and I well know..." here, he smiled and shrugged, "sometimes you just have to do what needs to be done. But this... this is something else, and it makes the Sneaks very, very uncomfortable. You will have our full cooperation in this matter."

"It would be ebough to simply have the words of the council. We are well aware that it is impossible to control every member of a group.

There are few humans in our city who would be able to abduct an Angel, and fewer still who would perform the deed. The same goes for gargoyles, and other Angels. Which leaves the crimes to foreigners."

The speaker paused, thinking.

"If we have your full cooperation... It would be possible to produce names of those who your... circle... has lost contact with. Descriptions as well. We can conduct an investigation jointly, these crimes are unprecedented. Deaths of mortals are one thing..."

Silvertoungue smiled.

"Ah, yes. That is something I am prepared to do. I have the assurances of the council of Sneaks that the Circle's hands are clean in this matter.

As for our members who have gone missing... we have already begun to compile a list of those whom have vanished, but, you must understand that given our... profession... dissapearing suddenly is a fairly common occurance. We are focusing on those who dissapeared just before this... Angel's Draught appeared. I am sure more names might come up, but I have five here that we should look into more.

Strongarm is one of our best enforcers, and has not shown up to his job in the past month. If any of the Circle could be behind the dissapearance of the Angels, I'd put my money of him... he's probably one of only a few of us that could possibly have the power to do so.

Snatch is a thief. Stopped checking in a few weeks back... told his friends that he had a much more reliable source of income coming to him in the next few weeks. He might have been referring to this new drug.

Poison is one of our Alchemists, and he dissapeared while exploring the War Quarter a few months back. I'd not mention him, as he is likely dead, but I will say that if anyone had the technical skill to create the Draught, it would be him. None of our other Alchemists have dissapeared in the last year.

Cunning was one of our strategists who vanished only two weeks ago, days before Angel's Draught appeared on the markets. He had been suggesting that we attempt to create more powerful drugs such that we could gain more power, but the Council was uninterested.

And finally, Finder, one of our best scouts, vanished at about the same time as Cunning. I trust Finder, and don't think he's behind this, but I fear that he may have stumbled upon something he was not meant to see. My proposal to all of you is that we begin our search near where Finder was last seen, the southwest edge of the city."

"If those are the prime candidates, and you have a lead...

We can use some of Kai Shomar Ko'tan's trackers, I hear they can find yesterday's wind in a blizzard."

A faint smile graced the councillor's lips.

"They should be able to aid you I think. Until now they've been quite bored."
