"Lords of Creation” is one of the most addictive forum games you’ll ever encounter. You might recall one of the earlier versions, played on these boards and the 3.5 boards. If you saw it and wanted to join but the collective history was too daunting, fear not; now is your chance.

This is a play-by-post cooperative world-building game in which the players take on the role of gods, with the full powers and influence thereof. The goal of this is to produce a campaign world complete with history, pantheon, geography, races, creatures, and anything you could possibly imagine. One of the best elements is that the world is entirely organic; ancient wars, cultural growth, and divine conflicts are actually the result of warring interests, rather than being pulled whole cloth from a single person’s imagination. This provides diversity that you just can’t find anywhere else.

And of course, we have a LOT of fun along the way.

To facilitate play and later use, we also have a wikia where game information (such as homebrew races, maps, classes, etc) will be posted: http://lordsofcreation.wikia.com

You can find the basic rules here: http://lordsofcreation.wikia.com/wiki/Basic_Rules

Looks interesting...

Just wondering, how exactly does a god have a personal appearance? Is it the form they are in the most?

Right. Appearance is your most common form. Given your a god you can appear however you like. It just provides a point of reference when you haven't stated your current form.

Since I was in the last one, this sparked my interest. How did the last one end? I checked the thread, but it seemed to lack a bit of punch as an ending, for some reason. Did it end by player accord or was it cut?
Mountain Cleave Rule: You can have any sort of fun, including broken, silly fun, so long as I get to have that fun too (e. g., if you can warp reality with your spells, I can cleave mountains with my blade).

I ended it after we started losing players left and right. The thread had gotten large enough that we weren't drawing in new people, and the older ones started quitting.

When I stated it was over, there were only 4 active players left, including myself. So I let everbody know there would be no more refreshes, and that they should finish everything up with what they had left.

Aaah. What a pity, a Ragnarok or supremacy of a single god would have been pretty interesting.

A little question: D'you know about the other LoC threads? (Scroll down to Miscellaneous PbP) They use a different system, which might interest you.

Yeah, 155 pages of in game text is sort of daunting to new players (and another 110 pages of OOC coments). I had been trying to create an abridged history, but couldn't catch up. Something like that really needs to be started when the game starts.

It was also hard to get the old wikia up to date as well; hopefully starting at the beginning will work better.

Well, I had reached the point where I could single handedly take down any of the other gods, so I had supremacy fairly well in hand. And Sinasilver used his last action to launch an all out battle on the forces of Thrael'kriss.

Besides, the end goal is to create a usable setting. A world ruined by an apocalypse isn't quite as useful as one that you can destroy yourself.
