I guess ill try to get the heart beating, I think when we started this thread we were working on the idea of the stereotypical zombie or Romero type zombies. So for the time being, maybe we focus on that and later down the line we can flesh out, no pun intended, the defenses for more advanced zombies.

i couldn't think of how a zombie could fly except for the possibility of them growing a membrane or skin from the arms to the body like a flying squirrel and they could glide from building to building. But i thought of something for a zombie to travel distances in urban areas. They could squirt or send out a sticky substance from there hands or wrists kinda like Spiderman. Maybe tendons and muscles or a sticky coagulated bloody substance? That definitely would cause problems for the towers security.

As for flying zombies....
Well there is the passenger on a flight 113 to chicago who dies and then reanimates as zombie... later the plane plummets to the ground in a fiery explosion on said area of GM's choosing
There are those zombies that when NPC Luke detonates the demo charges at car barricade #3 that a few are tossed into the air by the explosions hence flying zombies
And lastly there is the zombie who falls from the barricade rooftop above the parties parked vehicle when it senses them below

A decomposing body becomes bloated,if filled with enough gas floats like a balloon? Imagine an undead version of Nina singing Ninety- Nine Noseferatu Balloons.
I will immediately report any Phishers or Lonely Hearts Scam Artists.

Flying Zombies?
A group of zombies could load one of their team in the ole Zombapult or Zombuchet, and ka-FLING!!
Flying zombie
Could even count as a guided munition if the flying zombie used some body-english during the flight
Depending on how many motorcycles the zombies can get running, they could use ramps and get airborne Evil Knievel style

F) Military bases might hold supplies and survivors.
i) Military bases might hold Military, and said Military might be on Shoot-Everything-That-Moves quarentine/lockdown. If I was on a base that was not infected, I wouldnt be inviting all kinds of strangers inside the wire: You go away, or we blow away
ii) military bases might hold arms, or bases might hold zombies holding arms. Remember that Chaingun guy in Doom?
iii) you have to find / get to the military base within 6months of the apoc, because your car insurance will expire with nobody alive to renew it, and the gate guards wont let you drive onto base without insurance
iv) Refer to the Decay Of Infrastructure thread: the post apoc Military Society/Citadel. Perhaps you could join up as a protectorate of the military citadel (assuming your team dont have 'enlightenment dude' hitting on the colonel's daughter)

Let's not forget the scenario of the salvage team opening up the quarintined military base to scavenge supplies, vehicles, and weaponry only to find once past the sealed areas that zombies are inside from a couple of grunts being injured before it was sealed up...

Was at my local Wal-Mart today and they had a magazine titled Zombie Nation in that aisle so I picked up a copy for myself... there were some nifty weapons and articles listed within so I bought the better of two copies that were left
One of the interesting articles was on the ZMTD or Zombie Muzzle Thumping Device which allows stabbing a zombie in its undead head a little easier....
EDIT: What about aerial recon via drones or NPC Thomas, News Chopper Pilot, knows where to find a stashed Blackhawk or similar and only needs fueld up to get it back to the tower...
