Admittedly, I have never played a sorcerer. I've been playing DnD for over 30 years and frankly never took the time to take seriously the limited spell options of the sorcerer. I've played dozens of wizards and definitely felt that brains trumped beauty any day (I may still think so, but I'm working on it).

All that said, I found this thread to be enticing and I want to explore more. I wish I could add something to improve the thread, but as I said, I'm quite new to thinking about sorcerers. I would, however, love to see a couple of things fleshed out a bit more, if anyone has the inclination to do so.

I'd welcome some more examples of builds that work using what the OP recommends or expanding off it. I would also like some other suggestions for spells to consider. I think what the OP has posted were excellent, but it would be nice to see a discussion of complete spell lists. There are some good threads on line that go into spell choices, but none of substance of late.

Anyway, thanks for this OUTSTANDING thread.

Thanks. This is one interesting build. I'd love to see more and perhaps some more suggestions around spells.

Actually, you should boost charisma in the end. Starting with an even number in charisma, adding a +6 item, all level boosts and +5 inherent bonus will result in an even number, which is what you should be going for.

You're absolutely right, Tshern. I've played long enough with a DM who is stingy about such items' availability that I sometimes forget that the default has them more readily accessible.

Aye, I've had the same problem. Just thought I ought to mention it for those whose DMs are not quite that cheap. After all, wealth per level is a rule in the DMG. With limited access to magic items your suggestions work wonders though, so I am not discrediting your build in the least.

...Please check Dwarf Sub Levels (RoS) for sorcerer, and put dwarf in the good races.

Good catch, bjorsa; I just moved so I wasn't so much AFB as unsure of which shelf/box/corner the appropriate book was in, and threw it together based on accumulated board information and memory. It's updated.
