Thread Necromancy is the restarting of a thread that's been inactive for a long time. There's a definition here. And the Daleks got recruited as ships security in one of the sequel threads. They were trying to get life insurance in less than 24 hours.
First thing for people working on providing new features should remember:
People hate change for the sake of change. They usually don't mind genuine improvements, but change just because it's change and therefore cool tends to get hackles raised.
Second thing for people working on providing new 'improved' features should remember:
It shouldn't be hard for users to figure out how to turn them off if they don't like them. Just because the programmer thinks he's had a great idea doesn't mean everyone else is going to agree with them.

Thank you, dude. You have earned 30 jibneypoints. And now, to issue my retort: In the words of an awesome guy on youtube, "As long as they're talking about you, you're doing something right." Anyway, I honestly had no idea that they're had been so many Doctor Who refferences in this thread. And I got excessively ****** off about some of those jokes, but I hope you understand the stereotype you're enforcing.

The manager at one of the store where I used to play D&D - to include an Eberon campaign - was a closet 'furry.'
Needless to say, 61. - 65. strike a nerve. Ewwwwwwwwww...

x) Though shalt not ignite a summoned monkey and fling him onto the attacking ship.
Seriously, my pirates lost an entire gun deck (playing with gunpowder rules) to that. Not funny.

***) It's really not a good idea to ignite one's enemy with arcane flames while in the hold of a (wooden) ship. Which the whole party is aboard. While at sea.
(War magic, alcoholism, emotional instability and WIS as a dump stat are a admittedly bad combination....)
