So far in my game only those who follow the LoB name themselfs after weapons or armor. The rest have eather have three letter names followed by a number representing the series or 'run' in which they were made and a two letter abreveration of the country they fought for. One of the reaccuring badguys in my game, for example, is DET 31 CY. (Cyre) who only goes by Det now or they take a 'normal' name or are named by their creators if they meet with them later.

After reading Faiths of Eberron, I happened to be playing a ten-day trial of Dungeons & Dragons Online: Stormreach with my fiancee.

I ended up playing a warforged paladin of the Silver Flame named, obviously enough, Sanctified.

Mine:

Adam (After his ...antine Body)

Another player's, at my suggestion:

Dirk (Works as both a reasonable real name, *and* a weapon-based name! Extra-fun if the weapon he wields is, in fact, a Greatsword)

And finally, two that I have to suggest whenever this topic comes up.

Let's just say that you're playing a bad-ass private inquisitive who's *just a machine* to all the chicks:

(S)Haft! (either one works)

The game I play in has a warforged named Sharaat, which is goblin for "blade". A warforged acquired at some point during the last war by a member of the clan, he's been passed around as property within the clan ever since.

I imagine that most Warforged veterans would use monosyllabic names for easier communication on the battlefield. They might also use ranks for names.

Corp (corporal)
Lance (lance corporal)
Sarge (seargent)
Mast (master seargent)
Wand (gunnery seargent in a world where wands are guns)
Lieutenant (or one of the following abbreviations)
Lieu
Tenant
Ten't
Cap'n (captain)
Major (Ghost in the Shell!)
Batu (Ghost in the Shell!)

Lock (Rogue or Warlock)
Spell (Wizard or Sorcerer)
Jammer
Jack
Hammer
Sledge
Slam (Monk)
Security
Dusk
Blade
Midnight
Cloud
red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet, black, white
Mr. Grey
Gandalf!
Leet (1337)
Skin (take that trophy collector feat from PHBII and make skins for yourself)
Face (guess what trophies your taking this time...)
Spike
Lee
Lillian (female)
Lilly (female)
Liulani (female)
Petunia (female)
Daisy (female)
Goldy (female)
Dolomite (after my firend's dwarven fighter who was eaten by 3 wymlings)

not:
Dross (meaning worthless)
Slag (again meaning worthless)

I'm a big fan of just picking whatever name you think fits the character. In our Eberron campaign, we modeled our characters after our favourite characters from the Firefly series, with my buddy playing the Malcolm-style captain, my wife playing the scary-effective psionic ala River, and me playing a Jayne-like thug.

So, I chose a Warforged barbarian and named him Big Sal (Sally to his shipmates). :D
