I have played a wf in a Red Hand of Doom adaptation set during the war. I play him as the pre-cursor to the Lord of Blades. He takes orders now and seethes within having conversations with an ancient docent (its a play by post), but one day he will crush the fleshed.
He is a Brelish recon unit working with a special forces team of knights. He lays traps and during fights he explodes with his rage.
his name is,
IED

Personally, I'm partial to giving warforged names that are verbs. I previously ran a wf cleric named Revere. I'm gearing up to run an artificer named Stitch.

I once ran a warforged NPC named Premium, who was an obsessive art collector and bizarre decadent. I created another Warforged NPC named Malfunction, who lived below a blacksmith's shop and had a persistent tick that mimicked the constant hammering from the forge above. In the Eberron campaign I am currently running, there is a Warforged PC called Big Blu Hammer (The player is a Technical school gratuate).

Seige, the min-mazed fighter|barbarian crusher of hopes and dreams. Seige's rages are actually reconfigurations of his structure, as his form changes to better crush those who oppose him.
Oak, the unusual Warforged Warden, whose wooden compeonents have begun to regrow. A pacifist, Oak's weapon is an imbedded chain (a reflavored whip) which had once been a flail. It broke during the great war, but was never fixed. A vine now grows through the chain.
Rampart, the heavily armored walking ballista (Ranged Warlord). A heavy shield plus a massive Superior Armbow makes him a living seige engine.
