Oh, and I believe personal attacks are against the CoC aren't they? They are, though I fail to see a personal attack.
You're welcome to report the post, however using the report button on the top-right of the post.
I never said nobody successfully runs their own voice chat. I said everyone has had problems at some point. Whether its dropped players or interference with keystrokes or whatever. If we're still talking about voice chat, I've never had a problem - nor have my friends/users. ~shrug~
If we're talking VTTs in general - okay, sure, a few hiccups - but I don't expect the DDi Game Table to be error free either.

I suspect this is one of the reasons why the gametable was shelved. With limited resources, it makes more sense to work on a tool that isn't as saturated in the market.
As for 3D, I went back and watched the vids on youtube. And I've been tinkering with making the next major version of MapTool in 3D. And I'll be honest, other than the eye candy, it feels more cumbersome than a top down approach (particularly to non video game types).
Well if you throw in a match up server, compile the thing into an executable that I don't have to have two or three different dependencies installed, license the D&D4E rules so I can just download what I need and you'll have my business.

lokiare, you may well be a programmer. I'm just saying I'm having a hard time believing it.
And because I have a hard time believing some of the things you say, I'm not inclined to just agree with you.

Well, I'm too lazy or I'd pseudo-code out the first two or three things on my CT list to show you.
I don't report people. I let the ORCs come and see for themselves. They seem to follow me around anyway, so it shouldn't be too hard for them to read people that post at me.

I apologize if this is a question everyone already knows the answer to, as most of you seem much more savvy than I am about plans, etc. But is the "D&D Game Table" or VTT planned for release at any particular time, or have the plans for it been shelved to an indefinite time?
Finally, has there been an official announcement about plans for the D&D Game Table?
Thanks.

Thanks. Lemme see if I can get this right, so nobody jumps on me for using the wrong word.
* There is no active development happening on the D&Di Game Table. * They do not know when they will get back to work on it; right now all efforts are focused on maintaining the Character Builder/Compendium, and developing the Campaign Tools. * The project has not been formally canceled.

This is my understanding.
Of course, when your software is behind the tech curve to start with, and then you put it on indefinite hold while your competitors continue to develop and evolve their third party projects, it's hard to see how it's ever going to suddenly come out from behind into an attractive, feature-laden and mostly bug-free package.

As a rule of thumb, the ORCs are too busy handling reports and official threads to happen-upon anyone's posts at random. If they're "following you" its because people are reporting you.
If you don't report a post, it's almost certain that nothing will ever happen to it.
I know that the ORCs, when off-duty, even use the report button - as its the best, fastest, and really the ONLY way to get a thread noticed.
If you choose not to report something you find offensive, you're choosing to condone the action/behavior.

I just wanted to let them know what the situation was as it appeared to be a personal attack (where they try to discredit you, without discrediting your ideas), but it probably wasn't enough to warrant a report.

As you see fit.
I often report stuff I see (yes, on BOTH sides of the fence) - and not all of it gets acted upon. Just know that as long as you aren't abusing the report button, the ORCs (so far as I can tell) actually prefer a system of "better safe than sorry".
In the worst case if a thread gets enough reports - but there's no direct harm for the ORCs to act on, they'll lock the thread and ask the area VCL to step in and decide what to do with it.
Just so you know going forward. I'm done derailing the thread now.
