Think instead of car manufacturers. They design cars every year, and design them to frequently break down as soon as the warranty is up. Yet we keep buying cars, often knowing that we won't get more than ten years out of them. Where is the outrage there?

There's plenty of outrage there. It's bad no matter who does it. Yes, you're right, the auto-industry is full of companies guilty of this as well. How does that make it ok?
Are you honestly suggesting that WotC ignoring the interests of its fans and trudging along charging us for new-ized old content to save themselves from coming up with actual new content is perfectly ethical simply because there are other industries where it takes place?
