To move this thread back towards some sort of a point, there is an error with the Brown Dragon that I'm not very happy about. It's breath weapon creates a zone of sandstorm that blocks line of sight for all but the Dragon. This zone deals damage to all creatures that start adjacent to it or move through it. This includes the Dragon!
A dragon should not be hurt by it's own breath weapon. Especially not when that dragon has fire resist and burrows through sand at extreme speeds, and it's breath weapon is a blast of hot sand. If the dragon doesn't back away from the zone it creates with it's breath weapon, it's going to get hurt by it at the start of it's next turn. Something's wrong with that in my book.

Pssst! He isn't. Which begs the question as to why he wastes his time and ours by posting here.
At any rate, I believe it was changed for the sake of consistency. A big, quadrupedal lizard with wings that flies is a dragon. A big, quadrupedal lizard without wings that does not fly is a drake, IIRC (I don't THINK Rage Drakes fly, but I'm AFB). So, they were either going to give it wings and continue to call it a dragon, or rename it to Sand/Brown Drake.
Another day, another three or four entries to my Ignore List.

I love how he's a food fanatic.
I have an idea of would-be rescuers stumbling upon the Brown Dragon's lair to find the damsel in distress is fine and quite happy to cook for someone who finally appreciate her food.

But did it have wings, or was it at least able to fly? YES!
k thats wonderful Isn't it, though? :D
Why, yes, as a matter of fact I am the Unfailing Arbiter of All That Is Good Design (Even More So Than The Actual Developers) TMSpeaking of things that were badly designed, please check out this thread for my Minotaur fix. What have the critics said, you ask? "If any of my players ask to play a Minotaur, I'm definitely offering this as an alternative to the official version." - EmpactWB "If I ever feel like playing a Minotaur I'll know where to look!" - Undrave "WoTC if you are reading this - please take this guy's advice." - Ferol_Debtor_of_Torm "Really full of win. A minotaur that is actually attractive for more than just melee classes." - Cpt_Micha Also, check out my recent GENASI variant! If you've ever wished that your Fire Genasi could actually set stuff on fire, your Water Genasi could actually swim, or your Wind Genasi could at least glide, then look no further. Finally, check out my OPTIONS FOR EVERYONE article, an effort to give unique support to the races that WotC keeps forgetting about. Includes new racial feature options for the Changeling, Deva, Githzerai, Gnoll, Gnome, Goliath, Half-Orc, Kalashtar, Minotaur, Shadar-Kai, Thri-Kreen, Warforged and more!

What's wrong with wingless dragons? Those guys can fly though instead of sucking on the ground.
