Next group that should sit at the table if it isn't the current cast: Stephen Colbert (personally I can't stand the guy but everyone else loves him) Will Wheaton (A huge nerd and very entertaining to me at least)
Who else?
EDIT: and I don't think an ongoing podcast would be too difficult. They play for one day and we get content for two months. One day (or more likely two with travel) every two months I'd hope wouldn't be too taxing on them. What, no one is going to suggest Robin Williams?
Heh, this might tide you guys over: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O4InEGJzOsQ

I think one of the things Episode 7 shows is the need for good player tactics!
If ($player_level < $encounter_level) and ($num_of_players < 5) then
Run_for_your_lives!
OR
Think_about_what_you're_doing!!!
ELSE
DIE
EndIf
Also, James Wyatt is being way too tough on them for their amount of experience with the game. Sorry, but Chris Perkins gets my nod and he has better storytelling/mood setting ability.

Also, James Wyatt is being way too tough on them for their amount of experience with the game. Sorry, but Chris Perkins gets my nod and he has better storytelling/mood setting ability. I agree Chris seemed to be having more fun with it (tho James isn't bad, just I think Chris and the first episodes with him were better). Also I agree, the encounter level is way to high for 3 players who haven't played 4e before and in some cases are missing out a lot by not having the PHB and seeing how tactics can be really used for advantage. I partly think this comes from AD&D second edition that I believe the others were used to playing (and even 3rd) in which tactics did not seem to play the same kind of role. However its still fun to listen to and I hope they keep doing this.
However, the last second ****** me off cause now I have to wait till (hopefully) Friday to hear the rest.

But what a cliff hanger! At first I thought the file was corrupted or something.

The mechanical inexperience of the players shows, too. Many is the time I've been sitting there thinking "Binwin, use your second wind!!". Other situations include Jim using Fire Shroud on a single opponent, bloodying the beserker while in a tight spot (I just knew that would have nasty consequences), and Omen using healing surge before triggering Beacon of Hope on the same round. And has Binwin ever actually marked anyone?
Note that I don't actually expect the guys to show this level of sophistication when dealing with a novel game, but it would have been nice for Chris or James to occasionally remind them of some of these key mechanics.

I think Binwin marked someone once, but yeah that mechanic seems to go out the window most of the time. Again I think this is partly due to the lack of having the PHB and reading it. But yeah, it would be nice for the DM to say "Ok, so you mark this guy which means ...". Again I think they aren't thinking tactics all that much which makes these insano hard encounters even harder.

Yeah and when they woke up, Binwin discussing "getting in range to use his daggers" had me screaming "CHARGE HIM! CHARGE HIM!". I mean he could have gotten in range to use his maul, tied the guy down by marking him and generally beaten the snot out of the guy (with some decent rolls). I think even reaping strike has a "miss does 3 damage" clause on it.
Sigh!!

I think it also comes from the fact that they're largely playing into the DM's hands. For people who have played WoW they seem awefully willing to fight through the 'Tank' mobs, and let the damage dealing mages hammer them.
Also, add another notch to those that came to D&D because of these podcasts. It just so happened my playgroup needed a new game as our previous DM for Deadlands just had a baby, so he doesn't have time to do it anymore.

I have been really enjoying these podcasts actually for many reasons. Firstly, it reminds me of my friends and I trying to figure out AD&D 2e back in highschool. We all sucked quite honestly but we loved it and for the most part it seems like these guys are having a fun time too, they are getting beat pretty bad in the more recent ones but at the same time they still seem to honestly be getting into it and having a good time. The other reason I've been enjoying it is they are quite funny. *EDIT: I would also like to note, hearing more such pod casts would be great. I like the suggestion of Will Wheaton as he was pretty funny at PAX. It would also likely be educational I think to newer RPers to hear some of the Wizards internal groups playing. Shelly Mazzanoble's group could be interesting as I love the humor in her articles, perhaps a pod cast of her first game as DM?
