The Druid Preview is up. This will be impossible to update for several months, but since the preview's there and all...

Character Bio Show
Shivaris was offered to a powerful fey lord by his father, the price of a transaction for arcane powers that his father used to become a notorious warlock. Shivaris grew up in the Feywild, and came to love the odd beauty of its forests and animals, learning to tap into the very magic of nature itself. His crowning achievement was discovering the magic that allowed him to transform his body into the shape of a fey panther. His caretakers soon sent the boy into the material plane as an agent of theirs, careful to look out for anything that his homeland could use.

Shivaris' battle style involves two phases: he first softens up the enemy from afar with his various long-range magic spells, before using Wild Shape to assume the form of a Fey Panther to close in on enemies and finish them off himself.

For the initial "softening up" phase, Shivaris can use Chill Wind to move enemies around a bit, perhaps setting them up for another party member's attack. Flame Seed hurts one foe, and encourages them to stay put, less they get burned by the ring of fire that springs up around them (which also works as a minion clearer).

When in Panther form, Shivaris will charge right in at enemies with Pounce, which also sets up an enemy to be attacked by another ally (perhaps a Rogue or a Tempest Fighter). His other attack, Savage Rend, can be used by Shivaris as a basic attack, and it also moves enemies around as well.

Shivaris has 2, more powerful evocations he can call on. Twisting Vines allows him to box in opponents with... well... twisting vines, apparently. His Faerie Fire is his most potent attack, and as such can only be called on once per day. It's powerful, and also gives allies combat advantage against all enemies targeted by it, and as such must be used sparingly.

Shivaris' feats this level are Action Surge which makes his attacks more accurate after he spends an action point, and Improved Initiative, so that he can lay down his zones as quickly as possible.

Level 2 Show
Shivaris learns Skittering Sneak this level to assume the form of a stray cat. Yeah... he's devious, that one. He also picks up Warrior of the Wild, adding Stealth and a limited Hunter's Quarry (for use during Panther form) to his arsenal.

Level 3 Show
Shivaris learns Call Lightning this level, because of how devastating it is. No matter how an enemy struck by the lightning reacts, Shivaris and his team have the advantage.

Neat Human druids are pretty cool, with that bonus at-will. Whether it's used to balance or unbalance the build, it adds a lot. [s]One nitpick: Shivaris doesn't meet the prereqs for ranger MC.
Ed_Warlord, on what it takes to make a thread work: I think for it to be really constructive, everyone would have to be honest with each other, and with themselves.

Quotation of the moment Show

Areleth: How does this help the problems we have with Fighters? Do you think that every time I thought I was playing D&D what I was actually doing was slamming my head in a car door and that if you just explain how to play without doing that then I'll finally enjoy the game?

Quotation of ALL moments Show

TD: That's why they put me on the front of every book. This is the dungeon, and I am the dragon.

A word of warning though: I'm totally not a level appropriate encounter.

Really? Crap. Change of plans... (or stats, at least).

EDIT: That's better...

Looks very fun and efective, though as a human he should have one more trained Skill.

Looks good, one very important note however. Wild shape isn't actually a utility power as written but is a class feature. If it was a utility power, you wouldn't be able to use it while WSed because it doesn't have the Beast Form keyword

I list all Class Features that are powers that way. I do the same with Inspiring Word for Warlords and Divine Challenge for Clerics. It's just a way of helping me keep track of all the powers, whether they're granted by a class feature or not.

At one point, WotC forgot to post Level 3 powers, so that was not possible.

In addition, there was a time when the Druid article was up for free, apparently they forgot to do the security on it, so Lord_Ventnor may no even have a subscription, and thus no access to Level 3.

One of those two things would be my guess.

Thanks,
Hdier

Both good theories, but the matter of the fact is, I just don't feel like it right now. :P It'll probably happen... eventually.
