When I meant managing 2 THP totals I meant the ones from being hit that cap at 6 and the ones from hitting which are uncapped...

When I meant managing 2 THP totals I meant the ones from being hit that cap at 6 and the ones from hitting which are uncapped... And I meant it doesn't work that way. The 'uncapped' ones don't work the direction you think they do. They add to other totals, and are then capped as normal except for more Rager-Invigorating THPs getting on top.

Temp HP from being hit can only be placed at con cap. It works like every other instance of temp HP. Temp HP generally doesn't stack if you have more than one source of Temp HP the highest number is used. Invigorating key word attack powers allow those temp HP to stack on top (generally hitting 1/3 - 1/2 the time). Say this:
40 HP: I get hit for 10 HP my con mod is 5, I now recieve 5 temp hp. Next I hit him for blindness effect and con mod damage and I recieve 5 temp hp. I now have a total of 10 temp hp. I get hit for 8 damage, I recieve temp hp equal to con mod. It is the higher of the two numbers so I now have 5 temp hp again. I try to hit but I miss (1/2 time on average I hit with invig powers) I stay at 5 temp hp. I get hit for 12 hp, I'm now down a total of 17 hp putting me at 23 hp and 0 temp hp.
The temp hp from hitting are the ones that can effectively stack. You'd have to hit twice in a row and be not hit to retain your temp hp from invigorating powers however.

You've taken 30 damage and you have 23 hp and 5 temps left.

lol thanks for that I just woke up, but yes. The best way to think of it is regardless of how many times you get hit the temp HP stack to your con mod and will never exceed it until you hit with an invigorating power.

Not that it's especially relevant to any theory, or anything like that, but I've now seen three sessions with battleragers, and I'd like to take back what I said earlier about them being broken.
They're OK, but considering that two of them managed to DIE (not just get knocked down), they no longer seem all that great to me. One of those deaths was part of a TPK (well, the elf did get away at the end), but the battlerager was the first one down.
The other death came in an encounter with archers and wizards and a medusa; a rather unlucky death from ongoing poison after all the party healing had been used up keeping rogues alive. Just the sort of encounter a battlerager dreads.

Just using a Dwarven fighter with the Dwarf Stoneblood feat:
Con 18 (16)
When he gets hit he'd receive 6 temp HP When he hits something (warhammer = +5/1d10+3) he'd receive 6 temp HP Incorrect. Stoneblood affects the temp HP gained from the BV class feature, but it does not affect the temp hp gained from invigorating powers. So said dwarf would gain 6/4, or if he took the invigorating feat he would gain 5/5.
